Guest guest
Hi Barbara; Perhaps it is that you have yet to have the other tastes prepared to your liking? Bitter is especially good for a person and we, believe it or no, are all born with some sort of sweet tooth. I've a theory that, by eating processed foods, so many have become addicted to either sweet or to salt. As you must already know, the salt & the sweet which is shoved down our throats by ads and proximity is nearly devoid of nutrients and wholly unbalanced for people, when one speaks of nutrition. I think we westerners are a lot like the skinny malnourished folks from lands where there is famine. The difference is that westerners are stuffed with filler but they are just as nutritionally deficient as the stomach bloated but horrifically thin person you see on the news. Am I correct that you don't like horseradish or sauerkraut and wouldn't touch spinach with a 10 foot pole? Do you hate kale? Think salsa is for maniacs? Turn your nose at cheesecake and pies?. Might I ask if you get enough liquids and how you manage to stay hydrated? I HATE chocolate as sold in the stores but I discover I adore munching cocoa nibs. A Mrs. Smith pie will keep me up all night long and make my ears twirl from the sugars but one I've prepared from whole fruit or berries makes a lovely breakfast. Admittedly, like you, I have a 'thing' for salt. I'm not exactly sure why but I'm guessing I'm missing some important trace mineral(s) or other. I make a mock bacon with Braggs which I can eat and eat and eat. Have you, at all, looked into nori rolls to make wraps? Since you are in Germany, have you ever tried a product called "Herbamare"? It is an organic sea salt which is infused with vegetables. I use it in making a mock salmon pate from carrots and onions and almonds. Cheers. Guest guest
Actually I don't have a thing for salt, when I bought kelp it was because my dr. recommended it, I bought Braggs Amino because I was looking for things to make my green smoothies taste better. I never had salt in my house until I discovered sea salt. Kelp and Amino, while may be salt they do have a different taste. I know I have had my share of good food and I love good food, but I still don't care for sweets, unless it be fruit. nope, never had a craving for chocolate, don't even like it. So yes,, I turn my nose at cheesecake and pies...imagine that. Yes, I love nori rolls. I eat healthy foods most of the time and then i cheat and have a steak.LOL Drink tons of water and clay and that is how I stay hydrated:-) Have a great evening....or whatever it is where you live. barbara N germany --- On Wed, 2/3/10, Kathy <geekling wrote: Kathy <geekling Saltsoleander soup Date: Wednesday, February 3, 2010, 2:25 PM Hi Barbara; Perhaps it is that you have yet to have the other tastes prepared to your liking?
