Raw Foods

As a long term raw foodie, I'd be happy to answer questions and concerns, as I am able.

To begin, a raw foodie works within four food groups rather than a contrived pyramid of minimum servings. A reason to try raw foods for at least 30 days is to rid yourself of your addictions to sugars and salts. Instead of craving pretzels and chips or chocolate and candy, the body begins to actually tell you which particular food it needs.

The four raw food groups are:

1. Whole and raw fresh produce

2. Nuts and seeds

2. Fermented foods

4. Dehydrated foods

As often as not, because of our consumate imagination and ability to create, raw foods are combinations, and delicious ones at that, of the food groups.

It is a way of eating abundantly rather than limiting your intake.

The foods give energy rather than leave you full and bloated.

Blessings and cheers

Kathy

I have slowly added more raw food to my diet, and have a green smoothie most mornings, I find it difficult to make full meals of raw food, i have lots of books, but some of the ingredients I dont know what they are or where to find them. I have ordered Braggs amino, kept, celtic sea salt which helps with the flavor of the green drinks and of course they get better the more I make them. I see yummy raw food at different sites, but I live overseas and can't have them sent to me or I would order weekly meals. Natural news.com had a link to a website recently that does that.

I see someone posted on the applesauce cake and I will be trying that one. My hubby has a sweet tooth, ( I usually do not).

I just bought a dehydrator and need to play with that more. I only used it once and most of what i was trying to make turned out.

I know that raw food is the way to go, but I find it a little difficult to incorporate into every day life of a working person, although I am sure it can be done. I am still struggling with it.

You do not have to find all these fancy foods that most raw vegans use ..Most of them are stimulants and they may not be so healthy as they seem .

I have been on a raw diet for some years now and as time goes by i realize that the more simple the food the healthier it is . Local organic food is far much better that the so called superfoods and stuff.

If you are in a transition stage a dehydrator and stuff like these might help you but there are not at all necessary .

Smoothies , salads with some dressings and fresh fruits is actually all you need to feel a real change .
