Guest guest
LOL! No Violet, and I have just been very busy with revamping my website, creating new articles and some major projects and such. I would like to be more active here - and I will be more active soon, but what I am doing now is going to pay huge dividends for this group in the near future, so for the meanwhile I am mainly trying to keep an eye on the group without being as active as I would like to be. High on my priority list of major projects is creating a new forum site for this group. We have outgrown the limitations of what has to offer and as you may know from past posts, I am not at all happy with the way a functions. To name a few of my major gripes: The search function here is simply horrible and so is managing email notifications. Plus, there is no way to seperate topics into individual forums and threads and all the messages just follow one another in a jumble. Healing and preventing cancer is huge part of our lives and will remain so. However, we have many other interests in natural health that we are somewhat reluctant to get into on an extensive basis here because the primary themes of cancer and oleander themes would get obscured. The obvious solution is a new forum, and it is in the works right now. This is just a very preliminary look at what we are working on: /forum/index.html That is just a mockup that is serving as a guideline for my web guy. None of the links work and the finished product will be different, but that gives a good idea of where we are headed. When we roll out the new forum, it should be a big improvement in every way. For those who wish, it will be a much more interactive forum, with the ability to send private messages to one another, perhaps have a chat room, and the ability to manage email notifications so that your regular email inboxes are not flooded like they tend to be now. In a nutshell, it will be a much more informative, more entertaining and more user friendly forum site. Another major project is the launch of the long-planned newsletter. What I intend to do is have a weekly newsletter that contains some of the more important stories and articles, some regular features on a variety of topics and more. Everyone in the group will be enrolled as rs, as will everyone who has ever bought one of my ebooks. Each newsletter will contain instrucions on how to for those who don't want to receive the newsletter, but I am hoping that everyone will take a look at the first few issues before making such a decision because we plan on the newsletter providing valuable information about health, longevity, beating and avoiding cancer, and much more with a minimum of advertising and sales pitches. Until the new forum site and newsletters are launched, I am going to be posting some of the kinds of articles and items that will be regularly seen in the new forum site and newsletter. Since I cannot seperate this group into individual forums and topics I will try to keep such posts to a minimum in order to not interfere too much with our primary theme of beating and avoiding cancer. Once the new site is ready, the individual forums and topics will make such clutter a thing of the past - and there will be plenty of room and features for chitchat. Our new forum site is going to be YOUR site, the same as this has always been YOUR group. So please feel free to email me privately with any suggestions for forum topics or features you would like to see. Guest guest
Melly - Kind of hard to give a firm estimate at this point. I would say perhaps sometime in March. My web guy is working on the software. layout and features. And I have to make some decisions on how extensive the site will be in the beginning. On the one hand I would like to have several forums from the very start - but that might be unmanageable, especially without some additional moderators to help out. So, I might go with "on the other hand", which is to start out with a handful of forums that are enough to seperate out discussion topics and allow for chatting and such, but not be so extensive at the outset that it overwhelms the two of us. That way, we could grow and add forums - and get moderator helpers - in a manageable way. Compared to what we have here, the new site should be a feast for most of you. It will definitely be integrated with our main website. Speaking of which - you might find some good gardening information by visiting the natural living section: /natural_living.htm All the best, oleander soup , "tita_mel" <tita_mel wrote:>> Tony,> Yooooooouuuuuuuuu made me want to go to the Philippine beaches. Guest guest
Thanks Tony. March is not too far out. I'll nibble on my nails and wait.
