Guest guest
Hi, Does anyone know a good alternative doc/nutritionist or both located in the OC area of california, preferable Newport Beach. I had cancer and of course still have cells. Once a year I go back to Ca. to have a CT/PET as I will be doing in May. I would love to also see a nutrionist while I am there. I know there are great ones here in Germany, but I don't speak the language. I know the Ct/PET is bad for our bodies, but necessary to find tumors. Thanks, Barbara n Germany
Guest guest
Barbara,The way I understand it an MRI delivers no radiation which a Ct scan does in large amounts, but is more expensive. As a cancer survivor, you don't need more radiation.Ted--- On Tue, 1/26/10, barbara elenniss <bntelenniss wrote:barbara elenniss <bntelenniss alternative/nutritionistoleander soup Date: Tuesday, January 26, 2010, 1:29 AM Hi, Does anyone know a good alternative doc/nutritionist or both located in the OC area of california, preferable Newport Beach. Guest guest
Barbara, You're practically guaranteed to generate more tumors by getting annual CT or PET scans. HUGE doses of radiation! Guest guest
I am not sure about the MRI, I will be asking my dr. before getting more test, however the money was not a problem with my test so i dont' know why I would not have been given the MRi as oppposed to the CT/PET. Anyway, isn't it the dye that is in the CT that is so bad. I usually get them without contrast. I don't know much about the PET, I do know it is a lot of radiation, but do know that I have to know if I have recurring tumors. i will check out the AMAS, haven't heard of that before. Guest guest
There was an article recently that said MRI could be harmful due to the dyes used. I didn't save the article. Guest guest
Well that is like being up a creek without a paddle, I have to see if I have tumors or not, can't treat them if I dont' know. I never had chemo or radiation. I had surgery. I guess I have to decide what to do. Thanks to all for all your info.
