I had responded earlier and provided an herbal supplement, Rauwolfia Extra, that

my 88 yo mother is taking for her HBP that was recommended by our naturopathic

doctor. He told me that it had no side effects. Well today when I looked up the

monograph for Rauwolfia Serpentina I found that it did indeed have side effects

that included getting ulcers, an itchy rash, nose irritation, vivid dreams,

depression, shortness of breath. Not good. Our naturopathic doctor was not

giving us thorough information apparently. So I would like to retract what I

said earlier about Rauwolfia and I would sure love to hear more about Asparagus

Extract and how it lowers HBP.

Thanks. Josephine.

Also aged garlic extract.

Mag citrate runs to the colon too quickly for some and may cause diarrhea. A multiple chelate form that contains minimal amounts of oxides and citrates may be better managed and, therefore, better absorbed. Dear Bill, Why not ask your wife to quit the drugs and go to natural substances

such as hawthorn berry & flower and dandelion? Natural blood thinners are ginger

and ginkgo biloba, but don't use them while your wife is still taking drugs as

there will be complications. Besides having side-effects, drugs are often

incompatible with other substances. Most drugs deplete magnesium.

Bill,

My husband and I had been prescribed Plavix after stent implantations. It is

VERY common for doctors to prescribe this drug because, we feel, they have been

encouraged by the drug companies. Anyway, to learn more about it, go to:

http://www.plavix.com/

I would write more about our natural path, but I am a newby to this list and

want to learn more about the group before participating on a greater scale.

Hi everyoneThought I would let you know how my high blood pressure was after taking in some of the suggestions you sent to me.WEll when I went to the gym and they measured it, it was a scary 160 over 115, so they asked me to go to the Drs before I started at the gym, I went to the Drs a few days later and it was 145 over 105 (I must have been a bit stressed at the gym when they took it or they where not so good at taking it), then after two weeks of juicing, raw food, meat/fish only every other day etc, etc and i will admit I am not talking 100% but certainly 60-70% of the time and vamping up on some exercise, my blood pressure was down to 140 over 88, the nurse was so impressed by the change she re-checked it, I have also lost 10 lbs, so power to juicing and raw food ay! The other plus points are feeling better spiritually and with myself and feeling more chilled out with life in generalSooooo thanks again for your advices

Nothing is normal about blood pressure, 100 people 100 answers, beyond

genetics and history ancestral comfort foods.Take over the fixable

Environment - lifestyle part of the equation!

I just tested medical skill in chain of visits over some spells I had, now

ended in stress test to confirm, just to point to my blood pressure

dropping 30 when I stand in early morn and body used to being horizontal.

Mine BP @ 57yrs 120-145 without Med and lower when I chill and sit down,

this same as 20ys ago 5% pad. As I said we all different and even my sister

from me.

First: Are you eating fruit, Nuts, avocadoes, or similar quality sources in

at least half diet.

In week eat 3lbs of almonds, 6lbs bananas, in addition mangoes and lately

3-6 lbs of tangerines ~ mandarins these fill much of Day , eat as much as

you want as late as you want..and still lose weight.

Second: How's your " Zen in the Yard " Are you trying to get done or worry

about what else you need to be or doing?

Next time before psyching up for the yard, do opposite , As Yard your Temple

and each task fill your appreciation of life and your care for it. Let your

mind be detached and without a clock to guide.work till dark like ancestors.

Important as medicated you are most likely need to start with big slow

glasses of water to hydrate and keep pitcher outside and drink before ever

thirsty.thick blood is part of HBP.as much as stress above.

Do as many task without assistance of fuming noisy gasoline tools for every

purpose...Prune as Bonsai master , swing tools in rhythm and find harmony in

creation, not doing battle with it or time.

If you do not have a thoroughbred lawn, repeated treatments of weed killer

will cut mowing in half. A kill off and sow of good grass pays for itself

for many years.

With a good quality short fescue, I cut few times in spring to summer and

only few more till fall. I use less than 5 gallons of Gas for mower and

tools annual on long season southern yard 110x220ft including mulching

leaves with special double cut snapper blade used year round. NO raking ,

no piles of dead grass or leaves , free compost, see how much lower your

blood pressure is! I use my neighbors abundant pine needles for bedding

flowers and mulch..it's all where you find it.

As you get over the transition from recovery to working health keep a cool

mind and spirit, eat and do in pleasure and Joy creation.

Your right on the ball looking for exit from levels of medication you may be

able to transition, in better diet, change of tuning of the mind , your

anxiety triggers, freedom in time, " New Values for a New Life "

As per my  info BP of the range of 150/100,if it persists for long time,it may

be a cause of stroke. Better to continuously maintain at normal level.

The  best way is to do deep breathing like Anulom Vilom(refer google) or learn

it from some yoga teacher. Also Ayurvedic med like Muktavati is very good.

I have lost almost 60 LBS sense 3 months ago. And now, with medicine my

blood pressure is down 30 points on average. However, if working hard in the

yard, I can still get my pressure up over 150/100 still. Is this normal?

Over time will the heart muscles shrink back down some to reduce blood pressure

more while working out now that I weigh less and take medicine for it.

Are there some natural medicines to use that anyone may suggest?

Yes, it falls back into the 130s / 90s range within about 5 minutes. after 10

minutes it can get down into the 120s/ 80s level when I take my medicine.

I also completely gave up drinking 4 months ago. That is what kept the weight on

me. Also, drinking seems to RAISE blood pressure rather than settle it down.

Sounds to me like it's still a little bit on the high side but the fact that it

drops back down that quickly is a very good sign. Yes stay off the drink if your

blood pressure is an issue, I'd also try and limit the amount of caffeine you

have . Have you tried green tea? To be honest keeping up the exercise and

making your diet as healthy as you can will do you as much good as most things.
