Good Morning!

Creating Self Power In Your Life

Power is a broad reference to the ability to effect change or exert control over

people, subjects or objects. Self power or self empowerment is the ability to

" enlighten " , " enhance " and " educate " yourself in order to become a better human

being. This is one of the highest forms of spiritual consciousness we can give

ourselves. Improving our way of communicating, appreciating and honoring who we

are gives us special gifts such as gratitude, self esteem and a sense of being

grounded.

The Building Blocks of Self Power

1. Identity Formation: or conscience, is the formation of our identity is the

process of developing a distinct personality as an individual regarded as having

personal continuity or by which a person is recognized or known. This process

defines individuals to others and themselves. Self identity is the sum total of

a person's knowledge and understanding of his or her self.

2. Self Awareness: is when we focus our attention on ourselves. We tend to

evaluate and compare our current behavior to our internal standards and values.

We become self-conscious as objective evaluators of ourselves. The goal is to

increase our self awareness through positive change, looking inward, and finding

balance. We are more likely to align our behavior with our standards when made

self-aware.

3. Self Image: or imagining, a person's self image is the mental picture, that

shows details that are potentially available to an objective view by others

(height, weight, hair color, sex, I.Q. score...), but also behavior that has

been learned by that person about him or her self, either from personal

experiences or by internalizing the judgments of others. A simple definition of

a person's self image is their answer to this question - " What do you believe

people think about you? "

4. Independent Will: makes effective self-management possible. It is the ability

to make decisions and choices and to act in accordance with them. It is the

ability to act rather than to be acted upon, to proactively carry out the

program developed through self awareness, conscience and imagination.

Empowerment comes from learning how to use this great endowment in the decisions

we make every day.

5.Our Belief System: is a great tool for self-empowerment. To Believe is a

powerful thing. The Universe supports ALL that WE CHOOSE to Believe. Gaining and

maintaining a positive belief system about yourself, your abilities and your

will to succeed makes the difference between your glass half full and your glass

half empty! How do you look at life?

6. Positive Affirmations: is self empowerment that comes from learning how to

think in affirmations that are positive! Positive thinking leads to positive

performance. Positive performance leads to feeling more empowered. Affirmations

are words or phrases that you can say to yourself throughout your day to

encourage and motivate yourself.

7. Self Esteem comes from always approving and accepting yourself. When the

personality comes fully to serve the energy of the soul, THIS is authentic

empowerment! Self-esteem issues are different in different people. Although you

may feel great about yourself in one area of your life, you may be extremely

down on yourself in another. It is time to became committed to truly loving and

appreciating yourself and who you are.

8. The Learning Process: Self empowerment is closely linked to the learning

process. Learning something successfully makes you feel good about yourself and

creates positive attitudes. A life-student with self-esteem is an active rather

than passive learner and is eager to try new things without fear of failure.

9. Let go of Ego: Embracing peace of mind, optimism, the ability to forgive, and

a sense of humor are all good ways to allow the ego to step aside and make room

for some humble pie. The ego comprises of the organised part of the personality

structure which includes defensive, perceptual, intellectual-cognitive, and

executive functions. Our conscious awareness resides in the ego, although not

all aspects of the ego are conscious. The ego separates what is real. It helps

us to organise our thoughts and make sense of them and the world around us. [9]

It is often the ego that debilitates us through a false sense of pride, unreal

expectations, the false image of the self or poor self image.

10. Allow Emotional Release: Identifying, expressing, experiencing, and

accepting all of our feelings is your doorway to accepting all change in your

life. An emotional release is important. It is like the steam valve. When it is

released the pressure that backs up is released. Follow the link for expressing

your emotional release.

11. Be Flexible: because when have a rigid, mind set about work, relationships,

kids or lifestyle, you become trapped (stuck). Learn a lesson from the willow

tree and its ability to bend in the great wind. Where as, when we are rigid like

the old oak tree, we can easily break apart under the stress of change. Learn to

relax and follow the path unfolding before you.
