Guest guest
Hi everyone, I have a 16 year old son who has suffered chronic constipation all his life. He is under a specialist for it-he is now weaning him off the medication which he has been on for years. I was wondering if you could suggest something he could eat everyday to keep him regular. Remember he is 16 and will only eat it if it tastes nice. thanks Maree
Guest guest
Maree! You have to go to homeopathy for permanent treatment of your son. He needs a constitutional remedy to get rid of this chronic constipation. For that a detailed information would be required. If you are ready then please write to me. Guest guest
Raw fruit juices. If you get a juicer and juice apples and oranges, they come out very frothy, like Orange Julius. It's not like sugar flavored fruit water. Good stuff. Dude needs to drink more water. There are also some great acupuncture points, and formulas. Guest guest
There's one fairly cheap method. Start taking a cheap vitamin C and increase until he reaches bowel tolerance - just before diarrhea . Then back off to the dosage that makes for a " normal " gut action/ This may go as high as 10 grams (1 gram = 1000mg) per day in split doses. 1 gram tablets at Costco or Wal;mart are under $20 for 500. The constipation also my be caused from his diet which may be low in actual nutritional needs. I'd recommend one VM-75 (Solgar) per day to not only get back the minerals that are taken out of the body, but to supply the vitamins. Take this 4 hours after and before taking the vitamin C. This combination should give him dramatic relief and much better health overall. -- Phil Bate PhD http://drbate.com - Free Alternate Health Advice Neuroliminal Training (NT) solves allergy stress causing mental problems ADD to Autism, Insomnia to depression & more Without dangerous/addictive drugs

Guest guest
I'll pass on my Mom-the-Nurse's time-tested advice: Water, water, water; fiber, fiber, fiber! Staying hydrated is very important. My favorite fiber product is Benefiber powder. It can be stirred into any beverage, has no flavor of its own, disappears with no graininess at all, and doesn't thicken the beverage one bit. I stir 1 and 1/2 teaspoonsful into my coffee each morning, and never notice the difference. Does your son like fruit at all? I've heard that eating lots of fruit can tend to cause diarrhea, so maybe it might help to soften his stools a bit. He may like what my husband does: he likes to freeze blackberries, raspberries and applesauce and enjoy them as frozen treats. That had never occurred to me before, but they're really quite good! Hope this helps you some ... , " Maree " <maree6692 wrote: > > Hi everyone, I have a 16 year old son who has suffered chronic constipation all his life. Guest guest
Water. I can't emphasize it enough. Tea, especially SODAS, coffees, especially ANYTHING WITH CAFFIENE drains more water than it is worth. Sea salt will help hold water. Gatorade/Poweraide is cool, Gatorade having more salt, Poweraide having more potassium. Smartwater being no suger, but with electrolytes. HYDRATE! That's the secret to SO MUCH. Spoken by someone who has learned it the hard way. Learn it while you're young! Also conserve jing-essence. But that's Chinese medical theory. Don't get me started! It's all about HYDRATION. Let me tell you. HYDRATION. - " Maree " <> Thursday, February 11, 2010 2:19 PM Re: Teenager suffering with his bowels > Thanks for that. I will look into investing in a juicer. Guest guest
I don't know if this is available in your country. I am from the Philippines and we have this in the groceries. Maybe it is available in the Health Shop. You can give your son 3 spoons. VCO contains lauric acid which is good to the body. I have been taking this since 2005 and the result is good. If your son can't take it raw, you can mix it in coffee, maybe two teaspoons to begin with. Try to see books about VCO. Try to search also on the web. There are plenty of articles about VCO in the internet. I first encountered VCO in the internet while I was in Afghanistan. I was surprised about the healing powers of it. Mandy M. Guest guest
I personally use wheatgrass juice (I grow it, and blend it in my blender, not having a juicer). Essiac also helps me, when I don't have wheatgrass. Also, green smoothies make a difference...I just do an apple and a leaf of kale, both organic. Someone might know of a more helpful recipe. There is surely an answer for him! praying for him. Guest guest
Sounds good. Everyone is different, I'd say try it and see. Remember, too much raw food will deplete spleen qi, but one does want to balance out the yin deficiency dryness. - " mulchandani harry " <mulchandani_24 Saturday, February 13, 2010 1:52 AM Re: Teenager suffering with his bowels what is your opinion/experience on carrot juice wrt this problem. If you get a juicer and juice apples and oranges, they come out very frothy, like Orange Julius. It's not like sugar flavored fruit water. Good stuff. Dude needs to drink more water. There are also some great acupuncture points, and formulas. Guest guest
After suffering from chronic constipation all my life, going to specialist and all the medicines I tried for over 10 years, here is the remedy that worked for me ( later it became Chronic IBS). So severe noone can ever imagine! I started out drinking at least 60 ozs of water a day and taking a tsp of metamucil every day. Drink water, water and more water!!! It works wonders. If I dont go that day I will drink a little apple juice at bedtime. The key is to get your bowels to where it goes at the same time each day. To do that you sit each morning or night, whatever time works best for him and sit. Its a brain gut connection so when you get use to this each day your brain send signals to your stomach telling it that it times to go. I also started out eating pumpkin seeds and taking 1/2 capsule of cascara sangrada which you can buy at any walmart. I promisse you he will go if her takes this. Some recommend 2 pills but found it gave me severe cramps so I only take 1/2 and if next day I dont go I take another 1/2. Also buy a small plastic stool to prop his feet on when he sits at the commode. An old remedy the Indians used. I still use a stool til this day After 10 years of medicines and doctors and finding my own remedy I am now off all medicines! Hope this helps. ~Deborah www.NoFearLivesHere.com " For I know the plans I have for you, " says the Lord. " They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
