I live in Fla and they are bad here, so this technique says something! I don't recall where I got this information. Every day for 6 weeks vacuum all the floors, furniture, window sills, everywhere your pet goes; any crevice, like baseboards. Vacuuming every day gets any eggs that hatch at any time. You'll also want to shampoo your pet once/week. Plus 2-3 times a day use a flea comb and kill any fleas that come off your pet. Plus, every time I saw my cats scratch I'd use the flea comb. I bought an awesome shampoo called Ark Naturals Neem Protect Shampoo, and it kills fleas instantly. Also flea killer spray, called Only Natural Pet Herbal Defense Spray, that you can spray directly on a flea, say, if one is on their tummy and you can't get it with your fingers or the comb, you can use the spray and it kills the flea instantly. I bought these products from onlynaturalpet.com. Also of importance is to feed your pet good quality pet food to help them be healthy. Fleas attack animals that aren't in top physical condition. My vet recommends food made by Nature's Variety, naturesvariety.com Before I did all this I tried garlic, brewers yeast, etc. in their food. Nothing worked until I proceeded with the routine previously mentioned. I tell you I was so sick of vacuuming at the end of 6 wks but I am SO HAPPY now with not 1 flea and it's been about 3 years since I did this and still not 1 flea. Guest guest Posted January 6, 2010 Report Share Posted January 6, 2010 To get rid of fleas put some 20 Mule Team Borax all over the house. Cover every inch of carpet (even under furniture and beds) put it on furniture ... put it everyplace and leave it for at least 6 hours. It will kill the fleas and then you can clean the house up.
