Guest guest
I know that this has been brought up before but I can't remember what is the best way to get rid of fleas on cats. My sister has lung cancer so she does not need any chemicals around her but her cats have fleas and are being ate alive. She was thrilled that I could find out something to help that would be natural. Personal responses welcome, just add fleas to title. Thanks in advance. Guest guest
Robin, Diatomaceous Earth (food grade) is great for riding an animal and yard of fleas and other unwanted insects. It can be spread around the yard as well as put in the animals food on a daily basis. The only problem with it is in the spreading process. You need to wear protection for it does cause dust particles in the air, otherwise it's a great solution. Abundant Blessings Cynthia
Guest guest
They say Brewers Yeast, I think put on them, help. google it . Also a bath in eucalyptus oil helps, but doesnt totally eleiminate them. The cat can become anemic and eventually become very ill from the bites. You can also go to answers. and search and ask in there. Put your question under pets. Good luck. also try askville.amazon.com --- On Mon, 12/28/09, Vivian Parson <vivianparson wrote: Vivian Parson <vivianparson Fw: get rid of fleas on cats? Guest guest
The way that I've used successfully in the past has two parts: I live in Florida, and fleas and roaches are a horrible problem. 1. Add a product called " Yeast Gard " to their food. This is a combination of yeast and garlic. Cats seem to like it, and the garlic gets into the skin odor and repels fleas. Mix it into any " wet " food with some water added. 2. Vacuum any and all rugs that they lie on, and sleeping places thoroughly. Get a large plastic container of Boric Acid that has a small pouring spout. This allows you to " spray " the dry powdered boric acic out in a find spray over any rugs or cloth surfaces where they sleep. If on a rug, sweep the rugs so that the boric acid goes into nap. This will kill fleas. 3. To kill roaches and silverfish, etc. spray under drawers and counters in the kitchen. Spray under stove, and refrigerator. Collect some beer or soda old fashioned caps, and put them into dish shelves in corners - same with food container cupboards. Spray it ino garbage container areas. 4. Ants are somewhat repelled by boric acid, but smart enough to stay away from it. The best way is to find all ant hills around your house and kill those. What's the best ant killer? Surprise - it's Equal - aka as Aspartame. Yes, that's right, that sugar substitute even kills fire ants! Just open a small blue package or two and sprinkle it on an ant hill, and it will be gone in a very short time. If it is deadly to ants, what does it do to humans? Why are Coke and Pepsi getting away from it? IMO, Splenda is as bad or worse. -- Phil Bate PhD http://drbate.com - Free Alternate Health Advice Neuroliminal Training (NT) solves allergy stress causing mental problems ADD to Autism, Insomnia to depression & more Without dangerous/addictive drugs
