I have a quick question about this- I have to be weary of immune boosters. is anyone familiar with how this works in the immune system? such as what functions does it boost or hinder? I need to slow down my thymic cells mainly so I cant take if it encourages more t cells but if it works to regulate or correct I should be ok- just wondering if anyone knows. thanks.

ps-- if anyone knows other things that work to regulate the immune response im very interested. I was taking moducare for a while but didn’t see much change and still get almost as much plant sterols/sterolins from some other things I use now so seems like a waste of money now.

Chinese herbs are wonderful things- Beautiful, unique colors and shapes, a

pleasure to prepare and use. You can buy a whole pound of astragalus from your

Chinese pharmacist for less than you would pay for a bottle of pills of

uncertain quality at your health food store.

You can buy pills (patent formulas) at the Chinese pharmacy too. For best

results, brewing the herbs in a clay pot without boiling for 75 minutes will

work better than pills. Strain, save and recook once more later.

Astragalus is not so effective as a single herb as it is in formulas with

other herbs designed to maximize results. The ginseng and astragalus formula (8

herbs) is popular and sold as a patent formula.

Jake Fratkin's book 'Chinese Patent Herbal Formulas' is the standard

reference. He compiled it from the notes found in the pill boxes in the days

when suppliers were still allowed to say what the herbs were used for.

Every formula of the dozens I've taken left me in my peaceful center.

There are no metals, no side effects. With about 60 of these herbs in your

pantry you may get better results than others get from their medicines.

Please follow the traditional herb combinations and recommended dosages

strictly. They evolved over millenia by constant experiment by an enormous

population.
