Guest guest
I have had that similar pain, I could not walk any distance at all, it felt like broken glass in my skin, then try to walk on that. The biggest culprit in my situation is SUGAR. I went on a 37 day fast at that point, it did not go away fast at all. But if a person isn't into doing the fasting my suggestion : 1-get the colon moving whatever herbal formula you have and alot of it 2-WATERWATERWATER 3-add in the live juice and as much as you can 4-eat only organic food no meat for at least right now, give the digestive system a break. Guest guest
ü Take raw vegetables, fresh fruits and sprouts every day, regularly. ü Remove constipation. If constipated, take 2 tsp. castor oil in a glass of warm water before going to bed at night. ü Take 30 minutes sunbath, preferably in the mornings when the length of your shadow is much bigger than your height. ü Apply boiled and smashed apples over the affected area and then cover it with a thick cloth. Let it remain there for at least 2 hours. ü Drink pineapple juice, regularly. Twice daily. ü Avoid the following: - ü Sour, preserved, fried, highly spicy, deeply refrigerated and tinned foods, bread, biscuit, mango, dates, jackfruit, pickles, red meat and soybean etc. ü Acid forming foods such as non-vegetarian foods, polished flour, white flour preparations, cheese, tea, chocolate, peanut, barley, walnut etc. ü Purin rich foods such as non-vegetarian foods, dries peas, dried beans, mushroom, cauliflower, tea, coffee, spinach, cocoa etc. ü Reduce the intake of proteins to a maximum of 10-15% only as excess of proteins are converted into urates and then into uric acid, the basic problem of gout. ü Take the following foods after balancing the protein intake: - Alkaligenic foods such as sugarcane, leafy vegetables, raw potato, cucumber, turnip, carrot, beetroot, radish, fruits etc. - Foods with less purin content such as brinjal (egg plant), cabbage, ladies finger, lettuce, potato, sweet potato, maize, rice, wheat, yeast, beet etc. ü Take hot footbath with 300 gm. epsum salt added into the water, twice daily. ü Take an apple just after having the meals as malic acid of apple blocks the uric acid formation. ü Take mix juices of carrot, beetroot and cucumber in the ratio of 3:1:1, twice daily, to remove accumulated uric acid from the body. ü Take at least six ripe bananas per day. Please note that those who are suffering from diabetes mellitus should not eat bananas. · Take a juice fast as follows: - Take a fast on water for 3 days along with warm water enema. Then take a juice fast for 10 days on diluted orange juice and warm water with lemon juice added. Do not add salt or sugar in both the orange juice and lemon water. Or, take a juice fast on French beans and cherry juice for 12 days. Occasionally take warm lemon water. After the juice fast, take potato juice regularly for some days along with a controlled diet regimen. · Apply poultice made of fenugreek seed powder for relief from gouty pains for its draining and healing properties. · As the malic acid in apples neutralize uric acid, drink apple juice 3-4 times a day or prepare a decoction of apple peel and drink trice daily. · Boil apple and smash them into a paste. Apply over the painful joints and covet it with a thick cloth. Let it remain there for a minimum period of 2 hours. This reduces pain and inflammation. · Take the cherry course of Dr. Ludwig W Blan PhD. Take 20-25 cherries a day for the first 10 days and then take 10-15 cherries till a cure is reached. Fresh cherries are even though preferred, canned cherries can also be used when fresh ones are not available. · Drink 150-ml. French beans juice per day.marilyn <firstmatehill wrote: Help ? Guest guest
I am not very familiar with herbal remedies for gout, But I felt I had to reply to this message since my husband suffered with gout for 2 years. He was bedfast at some points. THe VA treated him with many different medications and the gout would jump from joint to joint on him. I would also like to say that my DH quit smoking 3 packs of Pall Mall nonfilters at the same time he got gout. He was also taking lots of vitamins including fish oil pills. I mention this because I have heard from others who seem to have fish oil pills somehow associated with their gout. ALso my DH absolutely craved fish after he got gout, something he was not a real fan of before. THe fist always caused more uric acid and left him with flare ups of gout. After suffering for over 2 years, he got a new Dr. at the VA who told him my smoking was interfeering with his medicine. I thought 'yeah right' but did not smoke inside the house since that day and he has not had gout in over 4 years. He took alapurinal(sp) for his gout, I know this has nothing to do with natural remedies, but if can help at all I wanted to say this. If anyone is smoking in the home of your senior, that could effect treatment. He also drank lots of cherry juice in his treatments. They found that daily cherry consumption reduces pain (inflammatory) such as headaches/migraines, arthritis, and also gout. They also contain a compound that flushes cancer- causing substances out of the body, and also helps stunt the growth of cancerous cells. The study found that it is TART red cherries that have the best medicinal effects...not Black Cherry. Montmorency cherries were found to have the highest benefits of all the tart cherries. Most people use the concentrated cherry syrup, and so they only have to add about 2 tablespoons of the syrup in a glass of water (or other beverage) daily. It may take a couple of weeks before you begin to notice it's beneficial effects. There are several brands of concentrated cherry syrups offered for sale, just make sure to read the ingredients and find one that uses the Montmorency cherries, and has no other ingredients added. The only brand of syrup I have been able to find that was organic, was Eden's. Hope this helps..... Jan / Michigan

Guest guest
My Husband has suffered with gout for 7 years now. The alpurinol medicine has helped alot but so did a food diary. Guest guest
In my area there's a local radio talk show host, Tom Marr. He would complain everyday about the pain gout caused him. People who had the same problem would call in and tell him that Cherry Juice or Black Cherry Concentrate cured their gout. In desperation he tried it and he said it worked. He was finally free from gout and all it's pain. I've never had gout, but this is all I know about it. t_jlord <t_jlord wrote: My Husband has suffered with gout for 7 years now. Guest guest
I had my first gout attack at 44, I am now 58, I started taking milk thistle which stopped all attacks and have never had one since. While in the early years I had to take 3 4 capsules a day, now I only take one each day. I have never limited my diet in any way or taken any pharmaceuticals. Milk thistle regenerates liver cells, proven by very many studies, which allows the liver to process the purines properly instead of turning them into uric acid whose deposits cause gout pain. Guest guest
My grandfather had gout in his toe. He did not believe in herbalism or natural remedies but my grandmother made him eat cherries every day (canned). His gout went away and only came back when he decided he didn't have gout anymore and it had nothing to do with the cherries LOL Needless to say he'd only go a couple days before he'd start eating them again. Guest guest
Gout is when levels of uric acid in your blood reach high levels and crystallize out (in the joints). For alternative therapies, try the following: 1) Cherry juice and cherries. 2) Increase water consumption. 3) Decrease booze consumption and stay away from liver, sardines and too much meat."Mrs. P Mahan" <bogduck wrote: Dear friends I am back and I have acomplished one thing that is finding my dad but he has a peoblem GOUT in his right hand. Guest guest
All of the aforementioned methods in that article do work, I can attest, but being gout free for one year means nothing. It's still temporary. I stayed gout free for several years, then it nearly ruined one of my knees when it came back on me with a vengeance. It had been so long, and it came back in a different place, so I didn't recognize it. It took someone else to recognize it and suggest cherry juice. By that time I was on crutches. It was over in four days with Cherry Juice. However, I wasn't cured. Take the " o " out of gout and you've got gut. That's where the problem starts. Heal your gut and you'll truly cure gout. Guest guest
To add to this information is 1) a person has got to start alkalizing the body to change the acid pH to more alkaline. 2) the person also has to start digesting there food with enzymes. Again, protein's are not being properly digested and this will cause this acidic reaction in the body. Protease enzymes do a wonderful job in getting those proteins in the body broke down. 3) cleanse the liver/gallbladder, intestines/colon Lots of good green vegetables, liquid chlorophyll to cool the system and alkalize the body. Lots of good clean water. I just thought I would add this to the email but there are also other things a person can do to increase a more healthy body. Guest guest
>Does anyone have any natural remedy/treatment for Gout?< First, for quick relief, eat cherries and drink cherry juice. Tart Montmorency red cherries and juice are best, dried cherries work (Welch's) and if you can't get red cherry juice then black cherry juice will work. Second, take colostrum to begin healing your gut because that's where it starts. Don't listen to anyone telling you that any particular food causes gout as that has been proven to be false. First thing many will tell you is to avoid red meat. Back when I had severe gout attacks my quickest relief often came from eating a rare steak. That does NOT mean that it will work for you, it just worked for me. The problem is INSIDE you and not external. However, almost everyone who has gout seems to get relief from cherries. Do not think you can just go on and on by eating cherries everytime you get gout. Gout can do serious severe damage to afflicted joints before the cherries can make you excrete the urea. You can end up on crutches several times like I did. You must heal your gut to get rid of gout and prevent damage. Guest guest
I take Milk Thistle. Have taken it every day for 12 years, and have had only one attack since the first one, only because I ran out of it. Quite stupid of me, but I learned my lesson when the pain was so strong I couldn't walk. I still eat red meat, drink wine, beer and vodka, of course in moderation except for major celebrations. Milk Thistle helps the liver to regenerate cells. Of course it helps to eat right and take natural vitamins to stay healthy overall. Guest guest
Eat lots of cherries, drink cherry juice, and watch out for foods with a high purine count (search Google for list). I've also been taking 1 tsp of organic apple cider vinegar in about 6 oz of water daily and haven't had an attack in a long time. I think it helps quite a bit to dissolve the uric acid crystals.
