*In case you don't believe it, here it is...*

Here is a cc of the Health bill, all 1018 pages.

I found it interesting to find how much power the “Commissioner” has. At

the top right of the page is a box that you can type in a word and

search the entire document. Type in commissioner and hit the little blue

right arrow. Just try and count them. It just seems to me that one

person has way to much power. Even power over life and death.

Remember, the reason it has 1018 pages is because it was written by a

bunch of lawyers. You know the camel was a horse designed by lawyers.

I also discovered the following and I read in this that old people could

be denied medical treatment that they may need. Perhaps you will read

something else into it. Looks like the “Commissioner” will ultimately

make the determination. You might remind any Baby Boomer friends you

have that they are next.

‘‘(B) The level of treatment indicated under subparagraph (A)(ii) may

_range_ from an indication for _full treatment_ to an indication _to

limit_ some or all or specified interventions. Such indicated levels of

treatment may include indications respecting, among other items—

‘‘(i) the intensity of medical intervention if the

patient is pulse less, apneic, or has serious cardiac

or pulmonary problems;

‘‘(ii) the individual’s desire regarding transfer

to a hospital or remaining at the current care setting;

‘‘(iii) the use of antibiotics; and

‘‘(iv) the use of artificially administered nutrition and hydration.’’.

Interesting how lines 1-4 are left out when you are trying to prove your point.

Lines 1-4 give power to the individual to make the decisions for their health

care. Lines 5+ give examples of those decisions to be made. It is in essence

giving credibility to living wills. That's the way I read it.

 Again I will state that this health care bill is probably far from perfect. No

bill of this magnitude is perfect at its conception. It will take time to work

out the bugs but it is definitely a step in the right direction. I trust the

government way more than I trust the Insurance and pharmacutical companies with

my health. The insurace companies only care about their financial bottom line.
