Acupuncture is great for pain, particularly back pain. She can likely get

rid of that pain.

Yan Hu Suo is an herb that has 48% of the pain killing effectiveness of

opium, but without any addictive property.

Try raw fruit juice for the constipation.

Dear Group,

I am trying to find as much information on the life threatening effects of

using opiod pain medication long term.

My daughter 27, chronic back pain, has 3 children and for the last 2 years

has been taking pain killers daily. Even during the pregnancy of her last

child. After the baby was born, she experimented with taking methadone for

several months and hid that from the family. She did at one point go to a

hospital and tried to admit herself for detox. the hospital told her they

were not a detox hospital and sent her home with a bottle of vicodins. She

now goes to a pain clinic and gets an ungodly amount of pills and dosages.

She takes 4- 30mg percocets a day plus ms contins, muscle relaxers,

neuratin, some Vyvance from another doctor to try to stay awake during the

day to watch the kids, plus she now has to take some kind of stomache pill

because her bowels are stopped up. She refuses to believe that the pain

killers are the cause of her constipation, now neuropathy, and sicknesses

she has from day to day. She NEVER feels good, she is sick everyday with

something.

I am at my wits end with her and about to take steps in getting the 3 kids

so I know they are taken care of.

My mother and I had a " intervention " so to speak with her and told her that

school is about to start and we wanted to take the kids because she is not

able to care for them. She is promising and promising that she is going to

take care of them but she is still refusing to get off the pills. She thinks

that of a doctor prescribes them, they cant be bad for you.

If anyone has gone thru this before and has any hard core studies and

information I can arm myself with, that would be good.

I have found a lot of stuff but would like to find some more serious " death

threatening " articles to maybe scare her more.

Thanks-

Sandy

IT REALLY SOUNDS LIKE YOUR DAUGHTER IS IN A DEADLY SITUATION. YOU NEED

TO GET HER INTO REHAB IMMEDIATELY. NOWADAYS, DOCTORS ARE GOOD AT GIVEN

OUT PILLS BUT NOT BEING RESPONSIVE TOO THE SIDEEFFECTS. ITS ALL ABOUT

THE MONEY, LOOK AROUND IN YOUR TOWN FOR DRUG & ALCOHOL REHABS. GOOD

LUCK TOO YOU.

Dear Sandy,

I am so sad to hear of your daughter's problems. It has been my

experience that you can talk to the doctors involved and they will still

prescribe the medications. You can go to a site like Medscape and

research the side effects of the pills.

Where are you located? Is she still willing to go to detox? You

could find out if there is a detox center in your area. Rehab places

all want people to be detoxed before they go into rehab. Is she

willing to allow you to take care of her children for the time being.

Probate offices in the courthouse have guardianship forms which you may

use without getting a lawyer to go to court on your behalf.

Best wishes.

Take you daughter to the nearest Sahajayoga centre near your house and ask her

to remove her feeling of guilt through that organization. The more and more she

gets rid of her guilt feelings, the lesser and lesser will be her backpain.
