Guest guest
I have a holistic vet; I recently had her see my cat. He need nux vomitae to kill the type of crystals he had. Then a week later we gave him a phosphorous remedy which helped him flowing again. I'm also giving Bladder help and Urinary Tract help made by Vietri Science. You can write me an email and I'll tell you where I buy them from, as I don't recall if we're allowed to share that information here. Guest guest
check out apple cider vinegar - it is good for urinary problems. Also see if you can find some chanca piedra, its a rain forest remedy available in tea or tincture, it is also called break stone, and it is supposed to break down calcifications, like gall stones. - Birdwalk Tuesday, July 14, 2009 5:15 AM cat help anyone have a treatment for a male cat straining to urinate. Guest guest
I have used cranberry concentrate . . . not easy to get a cat to take it. I used a syringe and forced it down. Of course, kitty ended up stained! It did the trick - the crystals passed. I would force the cranberry concentrate down, followed with a couple syringes of water. My cat stopped drinking so I had to give the cranberry concentrate probably two or three times/day, and I gave water with syringe every hour. Guest guest
Irene - You can buy non-acidic vitamin C powder, that is absolutely tasteless, in many health food stores and mix a 1/2 teaspoon in wet food each time you feed. That daily maintenance will keep the urine acidicity level high enough to prevent crystals from forming but is below bowel tolerance so won't cause diahhrea. Guest guest
I concur. Three male cats and occasionally this happens. Cat food that controls urinary PH works. Purina has a good one. --- On Wed, 7/15/09, Lynn <vista222 wrote: Lynn <vista222 Re: cat help Wednesday, July 15, 2009, 8:04 AM I had a cat that this happened to and i just changed to cat food for the one that says something about urinary problems on the label. did not have to take to the Dr. - Birdwalk Tuesday, July 14, 2009 6:15 AM cat help anyone have a treatment for a male cat straining to urinate. Guest guest
These are homeopathic remedies which work effectively because they are specific to each situation. This pet may not have the same symptoms and therefore other remedies could be more appropriate. You need to work with someone directly who does homeopathy.
