Guest guest
Hello List Members, I need some help… and I need it today. My husband has a hemorrhoid problem about every 5 years. It generally happens when he is either standing in one place too long on concrete or working on a ladder. For the last three weeks he's been doing only a combination of those two things. Last night he came home in pain and it was worse when he left this morning. This generally isn't from constipation in his case. What are some simple home remedies we can try tonight when he gets home… if he actually makes it through the work day? We are in the North woods with no stores near by so I won't have much to work with. When he gets home he's going to soak in Epsom salts in the tub as I do have a little of that here. Any suggestions are truly appreciated. Thanks in advance Teresa
Guest guest
As you don't have much besides epsom salts (which, of all the things to have is pretty good!), you may want to have him do this stretch (originally suggested by Edgar Cayce): stand on a soft surface (carpet is fine), generally better to be naked or lightly clothed, reach hand up to the sky slowly extend as far as you can, raise on tip toes, without breaking the extension begin to bend forward keeping hands lengthened, continue until the hands are horizontal, stay here for a brief moment and feel the pull of the tissues along the gluteals, continue until your fingers touch the floor, repeat several times. It does help. Take care, Tymothy Smith, L.Ac. > > Hello List Members, > I need some help… and I need it today. > > My husband has a hemorrhoid problem about every 5 years. Guest guest
Hey Teresa, it's Michelle! Bill suffers from hemroids too, and his aren't from constipation either. He uses aloe vera internally and externally, which seems to help. I found this info on the internet... Warm Bath Soaking the affected area in a tub filled with warn water is one of the simplest and most effective home remedies for hemroids. Taking warm baths for about 10 to 15 minutes, a few times daily, brings quick relief from the irritation and discomfort of hemroids. It is better to bath in clean water without adding anything to it. Aloe Vera Gel Aloe Vera is an effective natural treatment for many health problems. It is used as one of the home remedies for hemroids. Applying Aloe Vera gel to the affected area (anus) directly brings relief from pain and burning caused by swollen hemorrhoid veins. Herbal Salve Among popular home remedy for hemorrhoids is an herbal salve prepared by using bayberry, myrrh, white oak, and root of goldenseal (Orangeroot). This natural ointment is especially helpful in getting in hemorhroids pain relief. Yarrow Tea Yarrow tea, brewed strong and allowed to cool, can be applied to the hemroid-affected area with a soft cotton ball a number of times daily (as per requirement) to get quick relief from the pain and discomfort of hemroids. Witch Hazel Another of the well-known home hemroids remedies is the extract of Witch Hazel. It is available at most health stores and in supermarkets. Witch Hazel should be applied to the swollen area (hemroids) with a soft cotton ball to find relief from the swelling and associated pain. Garlic Garlic is the king of natural medicines, used for treating a large number of health problems. It makes one of the tried home remedies for internal hemroids and external hemroids. Two garlic cloves (chopped) should be steeped in two cups of water (heated to boil) for about 20 to 30 minutes. Upon cooling, this mixture should be applied to the affected area to get relief from hemorrhoids. Dietary Control Diet is an important control on hemroids, and one of the easiest and tried home remedies for both regular and bleeding hemroids consists of fiber-rich diet (vegetables and fruits) and plenty of fluids. Whole grains are also rich in fiber and prevent hard bowel movements that are one of the main precursors of hemroids. What are some simple home remedies we can try tonight when he gets home… if he actually makes it through the work day?
Guest guest
Dear Teresa, I am sorry to hear of your husband's condition. I know what it's like, believe you me! I'm afraid I can't recommend anything from your local store, but if he can wait a few days you can order by post from Andrew Chao (or any other Chinese herbal supplier) an ointment which is far superior to anything else on offer in the West. It is called Chinese Musk ointment, though most Chinese people will look at you askance and not know what you mean. They seem to know it as: " Ma Ying Long Zhichuang " , or ÂíÓ¦Áú÷êÏãÖÌ´¯¸à. Andrew's website is www.maxnature.com This will supply immediate relief and reduction of swelling. For a permanent cure, however, try Patrick McGean http://www.naturodoc.com/sulfurstudy.htm I came across Organic Sulfur (or MSM) in the context of hemorrhoids from Patrick, and early results are promising. There is much more I could tell you about the condition, and ways of treating it, but lest you are not interested, I will wait for you to ask me for more. I would need to know a bit more about the particular kind of hemorrhoids he suffers from. Guest guest
People suffering from haemorrhoids generally consume less water than those who donot have the disorder. Ask the patients to drink 3litres of lukewarm in the morning immediately after getting up i.e. before performing morning ablution like going to toiler or brushing. After drinking the water, ask the patient to walk for half a km distance inside his house or outside. When the urge to defecate becomes unbearable, he should go to the loo/ toilet. If this hydrotherapy is continued, he should become completely alright in fifteen days to a month's time. i was myselt cured in this way after undergoing two surgical operations for haemmorrhoids and piles. Initially, I used to get the bowel urge after taking just four glasses. Now I take 21/2 litres water in the morning every day.
