Off Topic: Studying Alternative and Complmentary Therapies

Hello

 

I've been rather quiet lately because I am now in the process of getting a

Naturopathy diploma in 4 subjects, 7 courses in all.

 

I'm studying Herbalism, Aromatherapy, Flower Remedies and Homeopathy.

Aromatherapy is much more intense than I thought it would be! At the moment I'm

doing Anatomy and Physiology, which makes sense...seeing as I will be doing

Aromatherapy massage after I have my diploma.

 

Since starting to study, I have been curious to know what do Alternative or

Complimentary practitioners do in other areas? How do they promote their

practices? What are the regulations regarding setting up a practice? Is anyone

else on here a practitioner?

 

Do you live in an area where these therapies are frowned upon and so you have to

investigate them 'in the closet'? Or do you live in an area where they are

freely and happily recognized and everyone knows someone who has benefited from

them?
