Essential oil and lotion questions

Hi there,

I'd like to make my own body lotion using esential oils and have a few

questions...

1. What do you think about using shea butter as the base?

2. Do I have to use refined shea butter (because it's deodorized) in order to

avoid a clash of scents when I add essential oils or can I use unrefined?

3. If shea butter is too difficult to use with essential oils, from the mixing

it well perspective, what other base would you recommend?

4. Is there any special trick to mixing the butter and essential oils?

Thanks so much!

Lina

I too am an AMATEUR aromatherapist. I am intrigued, what are the properties of

shea butter?

Just google shea butter and you'll get a boatload of information.

If you mix shea and an essential oil, you'll get scented shea, not a lotion. A

lotion requires and emulsifier . . . .
