Guest guest
Izabel, I have been on Synthroid for 30 plus years..have had no after effects....my Dr. checks my blood every 90 days ...which keeps me on track ..and yes..my prescriptions do vary occasionally but at least I stay level and no problems. I hope your Dr. checks your blood as he should be doing. GOOD LUCK, Rita ________________________________ Linda Bumpas <lindabumpas Wednesday, June 17, 2009 7:49:20 AM Re: Help with synthroid ??? I can't advise you about getting off Synthroid, but if you need thyroid, take Armour Thyroid. If your doctor won't prescribe it, find a doctor who is a member of ACAM. See http://www.acam. org. Linda ____________ _________ _________ __ izabel5740 <izabel5740 > Monday, June 15, 2009 3:10:41 PM Help with synthroid ??? I have been on & off of synthroid for over 15 years. The doctor keeps putting me on higher doses which give me the worst heart palpitations and all other types of issues that it is impossible to continue with this drug. I called my doctor 2 weeks ago and gave her a description of all my symptoms and asked her if there was anything which I can do since I can not remain on this dosage nor this drug. She in turn--told me that my issues were not with the drug and that my issues were with my head--that there was nothing which she could do for me and to go ahead and get off of the drug. I have been weening myself off of this drug--again- -and have been having the worst withdrawal symptoms I have ever had. Has any one else had any issues with this drug? Can any one suggest an alternative to dealing with the issues mentioned . Thanks so much
Guest guest
Broda Barnes' book Hypothyroid: The Unsuspecting Illness explains the difference between the synthetic and natural forms of thyroid quite nicely. His book really should be read everyone. He also explains the difference between checking one's blood and taking basal temps. I take my temperature several times in the day and check my pulse periodically. Synthroid causes osteoporosis because it is missing a hormone that they couldn't replicate (sorry, I don't recall if it is T4 or T3. It is one of them. My book is loaned out or else I would look it up. I thought this was a forum about alternative medicine. Am I wrong?
