Dear all,

My wife, 45 years of age is experiencing severe back pain for the last 3 years.

Doctors could not detect anything wrong with the spine or hip bones. She is

always having shortage of blood and  her blood pressure is low. As allopathic

treatment didn't yield any positive results, we tried AYURVEDIC

treatment(traditional herbal treatment of South India using medicines prepared

from medicinal plants plus massage therapy with medicated oil etc). First course

(almost 2 months) was carried out before 2 years and her condition improved a

lot. Backpain almost vanished. Her blood level improved and this made her more

energetic. Now again her condition deteriorated and she underwent a fresh course

of herbal treatment and she is far better now. But hemoglobin level didn't

improve much and the doctors have advised to use some herbal preparations for a

prolonged time and they fear her assimilation power is too low.

Can anybody suggest me how to improve hemoglobin level? What are the better and

easily available diets for that? Will spirulina be helpful in this case? OR any

homeo medicine will make some positive result?

In my opinion Osmium Sanctum (Tulasi or Tulsi))tea will increase hemoglobin.

I have tried this and with in a week hemoglobin level increased drastically.

Put a handful of leaves in two glasses of water and slowly heat preferably

in an earthern pot. (You can use any pot). Bring it to boil and let it stay

for some time so that water reduces to 1 glass. Drink Tulasi Tea several

times a day. Continue for a week. Before and after taking the tea, take hb

measurements.

Drumstick leaves are excellent for raising hemoglobin. But Tulsi is better.

Anaemia can be caused by shortage of iron; vitamin B9 (folic acid); or vitamin

B12. The latter is the most dangerous, and shortage can cause back pain. It is

hard to detect. It can go unnoticed it B9 is supplementated, and in that case

the other symptoms of B12 deficiency become worse and worse, even though the

blood has improved due to B9. It is an extremely serious condition. If your wife

is vegetarian she may well be suffering from lack of B12. B12 occurs in very few

vegetarian foodstuffs, but one that it does occur in is spirulina. If a person

has been short of B12 for a long time, they may lose the ability to absorb it

throught he stomach, though this may be only temporary. In case this is so,

however, a sublingual B12 supplement is indicated.
