Guest guest
For about 3 or 4 months my wife has been complaining that her thumb on her right hand hurts a lot and she cannot even open a bottle of aspirins. I told her that I suspect it is arthritis but she is not convinced that it is. She refuses to consult a physician because she does not want surgery or therapy. Is there a natural cream or ointment she can use to aliviate her pain? If so, I would appreciate any responses. Thank You. AL.
Guest guest
This seems to be one of the more common places to get arthritis, both my wife and I have pain there, we are in our seventies. There doesnt seem to be much you can do about it except to control the pain with pain pills. Also, heat therapy helps, we use a hot wax bath, I take glucosomine, chrondrotin and MSM pills. I dont know how much this helps? But, we seem to be able to keep the pain tolerable. ~Andy --- On Mon, 5/25/09, alsports2000 <alsports2000 wrote: alsports2000 <alsports2000 Arthritis???? Guest guest
Capsacin cream will help. Also she may want to try a supplement called Arth-Plus or some cats claw. These both help me immensely with my arthritis. Every day is Earth Day! Love your Mother! Guest guest
I have this problem periodically. My grandmother has really bad arthritis so I figure that it may be coming someday. It is my thumb that always acts up too! Whenever this happens, I take Young Living's BLM supplement. But she could probably take anything that has the same ingredients: type II collagen, MSM, glucosamine sulfate, and manganese citrate, enhanced with therapeutic-grade essential oils. These ingredients have been shown to support healthy cell function and encourage joint health and fluid movement. After about a week my pain goes away. If she tries a supplement like this and it doesn't feel better after about a week, I'd see a doctor. Good luck! Guest guest
Many remedies are helpful for arthritis. She might want to try Omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil), cat¹s claw which is as good as NSAIDS without the risks and for short-term relief, Celadrin cream. Glucosamine and MSM are also helpful. I¹m not a big fan of chondroitin‹it¹s the expensive ingredient without much science behind it. Guest guest
Often some changes in diet eliminates or improves the condition. Apple cider vinegar and fresh cabbage juice help eliminate the causes. Rena - Eandrew T Tuesday, May 26, 2009 10:25 AM Re: Arthritis???? Guest guest
I have some arthritis settling in my thumb too. I think it's associated with years of doing massage. I find that keeping a more alkaline diet, taking EFA's and drinking more water helps a lot. I recommend the Organic Excellence arthritis formula. I like that it's chemical and fragrance free and really works!
