Robin, I would not take the chance with tea tree oil and a kitty. (Google " tea

tree oil toxic cat " and you will find things to give you pause). I have read of

a lot of problems with pet birds and tea tree oil, resulting in some dead birds.

Some of the results when I googled mentioned hepato- and renal toxicities for

cats. Since I am not a vet or toxicologist, rather than roll the dice with my

kitty companion, I would go for something else. Not only might kitty lick the

tea tree oil, but it will absorb through her skin and reach her blood that way,

also.

It is a holiday weekend so your vet might not be available ... I'd call and ask

what to do, if you can.

Until then, I would look into and read up on pure aloe vera gel (not something

that has a bunch of additives and preservatives in it) for wound/incision

healing in cats. I do not know whether organic coconut oil would be helpful or

not.

Keeping her from moving much might help and perhaps Nature will guide her as to

how to treat her own wound.

But I would " pass " on the tea tree oil for this use.
