Guest guest
Hi! I'm new to essential oils and to this list. I just bought 3 bottles: Lavender, Orange and Tea Tree. I've read that you can use Tea tree as a mouthwash; however, it says on the bottle for external use only. The bottle came from Frontier and is organic. Can I still make a solution and use it (just not swallow it)? Any suggestions on an all natural mouth rinse? Thanks!! Guest guest
Hi Chris, Not Dennis, but thought I would share an interesting anectode I read somewhere. There was a billabong (pond or pool) somewhere in Australia which was supposed to be a sacred healing place for the Aborigines, and apparently it was surrounded by tea tree trees(?) Obvjiously all the leaves fell in the pool.... just a thought Cheers Jeanine Considering how much the aboriginals knew/know about the invisible energy of place, it is also possible that the tea trees grow so well there because it is a sacred place.... Just an idea. Ien in the Kootenays *************************** Good planets are hard to find. Let's look after this one! Guest guest
Not necessarily. With that kind of difficulty, I'd be suspecting of major Kidney problems. When the Kidneys are not functioning correctly, your body will use your skin as a back-up elimination organ. This can cause all kinds of problems with the skin. Guest guest
Welllllllll, thanks for the compliment Anella. With what you've written below, I'd definitely now say the Kidneys were the item here. There's no reason you can't start drinking the Kidney Tea right now, even though you're at the beginning of the cleanse. You'll just need more of it when you get to that part of the schedule. The best topical formula to use right now, is Doc Christopher's Jojoba 9% Tea Tree Oil Formula. I'd also be doing a lot of "Hot & Cold" Showers at the moment unless your water has a high Chlorine or Fluoride content. If this is the case, you definitely want to get a carbon filter for your shower head. You should also be taking 4 cloves of Garlic a day. Cut these in half lengthwise with the grain of the Garlic, dip in Organic Olive Oil and down the hatchet like a pill. Last but not least is MSM. This will help dramatically. A minimum of 500 Mg a day will do the trick. Keep me posted as to your progress on this. Yours in Knowledge, Health and Freedom, Doc anella wrote: WOW, you’re good! I’ve heard the rumors, but I’ve never experienced “Doc’s crystal ball” for myself. I have felt my kidney’s aching every evening and every morning for the past several months. This was the reason that I decided start the system de-tox whether or not I thought the timing or the finances were right. So I am on day 4 of the intestinal cleanse, (still not sure what I am looking for in terms of bowl change; as my bowl habits run the gamut of loose to hard with no particular rhyme or reason). I’m assuming that it’s better to err on the side of more capsules than are needed than fewer capsules. Correct? So back to my kidneys and the skin rash; what can I do to treat this fungus? It’s growing and getting painful. I know things will begin to clear up once I get to the kidney portion of the cleanse but I could be weeks away. What can I do in the meantime? Guest guest
I have successfully used tea tree oil for topical treatments (on the skin, on gums, in my ears and nasal mucosa, though it is a little strong there) for bites, bruises, cuts, red spots, scalp issues, etc. I usually mix and dilute it by half in some carrying oil like jojoba or sweet almond. I make small amounts to be used that day and next, as these oils are fragile and react to air. I add a few drops of DMSO. If I have it, I add a few drops of liquid trace minerals, if not a tiny pinch of sea salt. I have even added a few drops of magnesium oil. If you are out of Tea Tree oil, you can substitute Neem oil with the same benefits. If you have not tried these substances on your body before, you should do a small patch test on some area that has sensitive skin, like the inside of wrist or upper thigh. If it becomes red or itchy, then you are probably having some allergic reaction and should not use at all. For years I have used 1-2 drops of Tea Tree oil in my neti pot for nasa lavage. Mostly warm water, a little sea salt and the TT oil. I also have one bottle that has a dabber brush in it (like in nail polish) and I brush teatree oil on by fungal toenails dailey. This is slower than the stuff the doctor prescribes for them, but will not damage my liver! I am very grateful to the Tea Tree Deva . . . Guest guest
I had to have my cat spayed this week, Tue to be exact. Kept her in cage (which she hates) till Fir night after ferrets went to bed. Well Sat night while putting ferrets to bed noticed that her surgery scare had opened up some, no bleeding but the skin has spread open. Want to know if it is safe to use tea tree oil on wound to keep it from getting infected. Have never used on a cat so want to know it safe before I do it, we all know that cats will lick it. Thanks in advance. Robin
Guest guest
no, don't use tea tree oil. Toxic for cats. I mix up my own wash for healing wounds. I steep a couple bags of green tea and a couple vitamin c tablets, add some aloe if you have it, and dab this on wound. - sirkokobean Sunday, May 24, 2009 10:19 AM Tea Tree Oil I had to have my cat spayed this week, Tue to be exact. Guest guest
My information, from a member of one of my groups who is a veterinary homeopath specializing in cats, is that all essential oils are very toxic to cats internally or applied locally. Guest guest
if it is diluted-may be ok-if she licks it-it won't really hurt her-however-i suspect it will sting like crazy-i would use a thin smear of scarless healing ointment or get one of those dry powder type disinfectants for wounds--using the scarless ointment -very thinly applied-ould be the best thinly so to avoid hair-dirt ect sticking to it-it has calandular0comprey and hypericum in it-healing and antibacterial-make sure her bed is clean and lint free-no fluffy bedding-use washable cotton etc. ________________________________ sirkokobean <sirkokobean Sunday, 24 May, 2009 8:19:48 AM Tea Tree Oil I had to have my cat spayed this week, Tue to be exact. Guest guest
I know alot of people rave about tea tree oil (not recommended for cats btw!)...but my own experience: had a bad cut on my foot, a friend swears by tea tree oil and i put it on...next day looked infected...i'm not a fan of tea tree oil on wounds
Guest guest
Ask your vet for some bactrin ointment..that likely will be ok for kitty...NOT tea tree ! It's too caustic. medusa - " cheryl bullock " <cooee.shari Sunday, May 24, 2009 7:23 PM Re: Tea Tree Oil if it is diluted-may be ok-if she licks it-it won't really hurt her-however-i suspect it will sting like crazy-i would use a thin smear of scarless healing ointment or get one of those dry powder type disinfectants for wounds--using the scarless ointment -very thinly applied-ould be the best thinly so to avoid hair-dirt ect sticking to it-it has calandular0comprey and hypericum in it-healing and antibacterial-make sure her bed is clean and lint free-no fluffy bedding-use washable cotton etc.
Guest guest
It's safer to use both Hypericum and Calendula tinctures diluted in water and dripped/dabbed on it. Any questions write to me. Guest guest
Hi Robin- I hope your kitty is doing okay. Colloidal Silver liquid drops or spray works wonderfully as a natural and safe antibiotic for wounds, cuts, etc. of yours or your pets. I use Ionic Silver from Metabolics that I order through my chiropractor/naturopath. But you can buy it @ health food stores too though not all brands are equally effective. And I totally agree with the others. Tea tree and any aromatic or essential oils are not to be used with cats and are potentially even deadly.
