I have 3 unrelated questions:

1)

I make a fruit smoothie first thing in the morning (banana, berries,

almond milk) and put the total nutrition powder in it. How long do

I need to wait before I can eat again. I'm hungry anywhere from 1-

1/2 to 2 hours after, but I don't necessarily trust this.

2)

I sometimes take supplements for adrenaline support. Is there

something natural I can take rather than the costly supplements?

3)

I love oatmeal. I cook rolled oats, adding raisins, cinnamon, and

soaked walnuts. But, don't the rolled oats have enzyme inhibitors?

Is there enough to worry about? Anything I can do about it?

Thanks,

Karen

Hi Karen,

1) You don't have to wait to eat after you have your TN. I'm surprised

if it's not holding you longer than 2 hrs, though. Mine will hold me a

good 4 hrs.

2) If your adrenals need support and you want to get off the

supplements, I would recommend addressing the source of the problem -

detox your body by cleansing, eat good food, and find a way to better

handle the stress in your life. If you do the total body cleanse, and

stick with the good eating habits you need for the cleanse, then you'd

be well on your way. I've had NO adrenal problems since my first

cleanse. :)

3) Yes, oats have enzyme inhibitors. Best would be to avoid it. Second

best would be to make sure it's organic and take an enzyme with it when

you do have it. Others may have suggestions on whether soaking/sprouting

is possible in this situation. I've never been an oatmeal eater, though,

so I don't know. :)

Best,

Kelli

Thanks Kelli,

It is better since I've reduced stress and started meditating again,

but I wasn't sure what was causing it.

I've always heard how good oatmeal is for you. I wasn't sure

whether the enzyme inhibitors were strong enough when the oatmeal is

combined with fresh fruit to offset the good factors.

Hi, Yes, I've heard people say oatmeal is good for you too, but I think

it's because it's a whole grain rather than something processed. Most

people don't know about enzyme inhibitors. Having fresh fruit with your

oatmeal will provide enzymes. I personally notice a difference in my

bowel movements and the overall feeling of my body when I have enzyme

inhibitors, though, and that's why I generally recommend to avoid them.

Just figure out what works best for you. If adding fruit, or taking an

enzyme works for you, wonderful!

Best,

Kelli

Kelli -

You're probably right. Oatmeal in the original cut version is

healthy, that progressed to rolled oats (which is just flattened),

then instant oatmeal came into being, the microwave version, etc.

Maybe I'm not really clear " exactly " what an exzyme inhibitor does

(I read the article). If the exhibitors are present, does it even

matter is you eat foods or take enzyme supplments?
