Guest guest
Hi Candace, For the cleanse, you'll want to sprout things that you won't have to cook. For that, I've done almonds (wonderful!), winter and red wheat (great on salads) and wild rice (also great on salads). You really don't need any fancy equipment to sprout. For the cleanse itself, and also for sprouting, I recommend that you get a large number of the quart size canning jars. This is great for putting your tea in on weeks 3 & 4, for the potassium broth, and also for sprouting. You can just use some cheese cloth on the top of the canning jar for the sprouting and rinsing cycles. Easy! The other good thing about using the quart jars is that then you can have a jar of something going all the time. When I started, I was doing batches that were way too large and the stuff would go bad before I ate it all. A quart jar (fill it 1/2 way with whatever you're sprouting) is plenty big enough. When you can have cooked food, then you can sprout all sorts of things. Some of my staples are garbanzo beans (for hummus), pinto beans (for frijoles), and basmati rice (for veggie stir fry). Hope this gets you started!
