Guest guest
Hi all, I just got back from the hospital and my infant daughter of 5 mos. has pneumonia. Now is there anything I can do for a substitute of albuterol? To be quite honest my daughter didn't seem any worse for wear with her pneumonia, but I of course am not taking any chances. I will start taking echinacea, total tonic and I am already taking total nutrition. I myself am not doing well, right now. Been under total stress with my other daughter who brought home the virus to begin with. She has ear issues right now and I am worried about her too. Anyhow, not to dredge on. They want me to give my daughter some syrup, antibiotics and the albuterol. Kind of much for an infant and I really don't like it at all. I am already giving her HOmeopathic remedy, but just wondering if there is anything I else I can do. Thanks much, Lisa
Guest guest
I don't know how far along into this advice seeking posts you all are (I am a new member), but I wanted to suggest to you to get dehumidifiers. I lived in a very damp and moldy area once and got 2 dehumidifiers (one upstairs and one downstairs in basement). It helped a lot since the mold (most of the common ones anyway) love and feed off water. Just a thought. Dawn Cape Cod, MA
Guest guest
Hi There are herbs that can be used in pneumonia but you will need a herbalist specialising in paediatric care. Before venturing on treatment this way, please remember that herbal medicine is slower than antibiotics in treating the infection. However I do agree that, antibiotics need to be avoided if possible. It is vital that you do not try to treat your baby by yourself. Herbs can be toxic and adult doses are not safe. The herbs are available in oil form and can be given as drops, which can be added to food. As your baby is 5 months old, I presume that (s)he has started to be weaned; drops can be put into a spoonful of pudding or fruit. Tea Tree oil can be inhaled by adding to the rub below Eucalyptus oil can be used by rubbing it on the chest e.g. Vick vapour rub; paediatric strengths are available. This is inhaled as a vapour and the herbs are active in aiding the killing of bacteria. Regarding the ear infection; a few drops of gently warmed olive oil can aid relief of pain and is itself a form of natural antibiotic. · Heat a teaspoon in boiling water remove and add a few drops of olive oil on to the hot spoon. · Very carefully pour the drops into the child’s ear after testing the oil on the your wrist to ensure it is not too warm. · It is important to remember that oil is either too hot or too cold will cause a LOT of pain. I hope this helps Marion ---- herbal remedies 11/23/04 06:45:53 herbal remedies Herbal Remedies - Pneumonia Question Hi all,I just got back from the hospital and my infant daughter of 5 mos. has pneumonia.
