Guest guest
Not always, some of the newer viruses do not need an attachment, some even have weblinks in them that once you clikc on the link it automatically downloads the virus to your computer. But it would reduce the number of potential harmful elements. Guest guest
It stops them from coming through the list- they will be stripped before they ever email to anyone. This in turn will stop the spoofing to the list Marisa Domestic Engineer and Mother of 2 God put Adam and Eve in a Garden NOT a Pharmacy! Guest guest
It is true that a few very recent computer viruses are being passed on by weblinks, but 1000's are passed on by attachments. The Weblink viruses are not activated unless you in your email. You can read about the different web links that this new wave of viruses use at http://www.techstuff.ca/archives/932.html (If you get totally fed up with viruses and spyware, get a Macintosh. There are only 25 million Mac users, so virus writers can don't bother to write viruses for us. :-) Doug Hogg ----------------------- Web Sites, Macintosh Consulting http://www.machelpla.com > >Message: 1 > Thu, 18 Nov 2004 00:41:49 -0000 > " Sylvia " <h10feet >Re: Viruses > > >Not always, some of the newer viruses do not need an attachment, >some even have weblinks in them that once you clikc on the link it >automatically downloads the virus to your computer. > >But it would reduce the number of potential harmful elements. > >Sylvia > >herbal remedies , " Jeff Castor " ><jeff.castor@v...> wrote: > > To my knowledge, viruses are transported through attachments. > > > > > > _____ > > > > Dr. Ian Shillington [DocShillington@K...] > > Wednesday, November 17, 2004 5:04 PM > > herbal remedies > > Re: Herbal Remedies - Viruses > > > > > > Does this stop viruses from being passed on????? > > Doc > > > > Ian " Doc " Shillington N.D. > > 727-447-5282 > > Doc@A... > > > > - > > Corless <corless@s...> Family > > herbal remedies > > Wednesday, November 17, 2004 4:31 PM > > RE: Herbal Remedies - Viruses > > > > would it be possible to remove the ability to send attachments on >the list? > > at least for a while? > > > > Marisa > > Domestic Engineer and Mother of 2 > > God put Adam and Eve in a Garden NOT a Pharmacy! > > > --
