Guest guest
Jamie...Welcome ! The weird messages that you are getting that appear to be from Doc are not from him . It is an attempt to spread a virus. Doc's email address is in the address book of someone who got the virus . This is how some of these viruses work . It's nasty . I assure you that DOC is protected to the hilt from viruses and such so it is NOT from him. You are not alone in having the difficult task of weeding through what is true and what is not . It is also difficult to handle others on all the false data that is out there on herbs and natural healing. And lets not forget that there is a huge movement to discredit herbs , herbalists and natural methods of healing. Echinacea that is organically grown and not tampered with DOES work . The problem is that the pharmaceutical companies can not have a Patent on an herb in its whole form so one of the things that they do is isolate what their chemists believe to be the the active ingredient , Patent that , and then make products with this marker compound only . People buy these products , which the pharmaceutical companies make a fortune on , and it does not work , and in fact can have adverse reactions because the whole plant is not there ! THEN the FDA can ban this herb ! So the next time you see an article which says echinacea does not work be very suspicious and suspect this kind of activity . You can trace it down if you are a good researcher. I hope this helps a bit. and once again , WELCOME....Mary O - " Jamie Lynn " <jalynned <herbal remedies > Tuesday, November 16, 2004 9:44 AM Re: Herbal Remedies - Digest Number 3690 > > > hello All! > > my name is Jamie, I'm new to the list and I'm very excited to be here! > Right off the bat, I am wondering about a few things. Guest guest
Jamie, I'd like to add to this by saying that you can read tons of posts about people that have been helped by this wonderful herb. Before this board i was a poster child for the pharmaceutical companies - but only because i had become so dependent on the B* they have everyone believing. and not necessarily because it was my preference. It was through my DH's contant prodding and lots of reading and then joining this group that i not only kicked ALL pharmaceuticals but also ALL over the counter garbage and i supposedly had some serious stuff going on. I have made it through 2 very serious bouts of Bronchitis in the last 18 months with nothing but echinacea and other herbs and healed faster than any pharmaceutical every helped me The only drugs trials you will read about here are those about real people using herbs and being healed and not some whacko study group that was paid off by the pharmies! Read everything you can get your hands on about the subject, but from sources that study and utilize natural methods. And then lastly, try it. The best proof is " in the pudding " so to speak. Sylvia who is now done cheerleading for echinacea... ey herbal remedies , " Mary Ostrowski " <Odesign1@e...> wrote: > Jamie...Welcome !
