Natural cure for herpes is there one?

My friend takes Valtrex and has to take it for a year straight and I

think there must be some alternative. She has genital herpes and was

told she may take Valtrex for even longer than a year YIKES!!

YIKES is right! I don't know necessarily that it's a cure, but it can

certainly help. Melissa Officinalis (Lemonbalm) has been used for a long

time for the treatment of herpes.

 

Lemonbalm is anti-viral...and Herpes, is as far as I know, a virus.

Lemonbalm can be infused into oil to make a salve for the sores, when she

has an outbreak. It can also be used as a tea, which can be very effective

to reduce or eliminate outbreaks, and can be found in tincture form.

 

Please note that it's not recommended during pregnancy. Also note that the

essential oil is not recommended for this use. Most of the active

properties of Melissa Officinalis are water soluble, and therefore work

better in tea, tincture or oil infusion form.
