Thanks for the website info to get tapes.

I joined last month and have not introduced myself. I am the 63 year old mother of one child (a son) and grandmother of one grandchild; Jacob, who is 10 and the apple of our eye. All of my family (including myself) has serious health problems and I am the only one interested in an alternative treatment.

I have another question. But first here is some background.

My DH has problems with colon polyps; so far none have been malignant. He is due for another colonoscopy Nov 30th. He is over due for this one (it has been 18 months since the last one). We expect polyps because he has been having them removed every time he goes.

Last time he had uncontrolled bleeding and things got pretty scary. I have not said anything because DH is not a "health food" person and I had been sneaking ST John's Wort and Ginkgo caps in with his other meds. I stopped the St John's Wort a few days prior to the exam but didn't think about the Ginkgo might be a problem (maybe I should take it myself).

I am trying to learn about herbs but still very ignorant. DH is currently taking an herbal formula (several herbs) for arthritis (not Glucosamine, Chondroitin) and another formula containing several herbs for Prostate.

Because there are so many herbs involved I thought it might be better for the group to let me know the herbs that can cause bleeding and how soon should he stop taking them should they be included in the two formulas that he is taking. One herb I noticed in the Arthritic formula that I wonder about is 'White Willow Bark'. I have heard/read that it is similar to aspirin. He is really crippled up and there are times when he can hardly get around; then his MD gives him a steroid shot. Should he need to stop this herbal combo what can he use for inflammation, pain, and stiffness?

Thanks, your friend,

Gloria

Gloria-

Hello. Welcome.

The first place to start with the Colon issues is with intestinal cleanse #1 and #2. They are very easy to do and will heal and soothe your intestinal tract. It will help drastically. My sister had serious issues with her colon and she did this cleanse and the results have been remarkable....

You can buy these formulas from Doc Shillington, buy them elsewhere online or make them yourself....Let us know which way you want to go and we can guide you through the process. It is not that hard at all.

Fresh raw garlic is also something that can help heal and help with arthritis. Drinking distilled water will help flush the toxins out.....But you will get your best results, from changes, after an intestinal cleanse because you body will be able absorb more nutrients and your colon as an eliminatory organ will be able to rid your body of toxins easier....

Let me know what questions you have...

Rob

I must have gotten so carried away with my introduction that I didn't state my question clearly. My first question had been on an earlier email asking about Doc's tapes and I wanted to thank you for your response.

My second question is in this message about the polyps. I need to know which herbs can cause bleeding and should be eliminated from the diet when one is going to have a procedure such as polyp removal and how many days prior to the procedure?

I thought if I could find a list of such herbs I would check it against what he is taking and go from there.

I appreciate the show of support and suggestions but DH has no intentions of doing anything the MD does not suggest. He is one of those who thinks Medical Doctors are Gods little elves doing his work on earth.

I am tired of being a guinea pig and want to get well. Over a period of 35 years I have watched loved ones suffer and die at the hands of these doctors. I pray that if I can recover my health then maybe my son and DH will have their light bulb moments and change their ways.

I have joined other groups and left them for various reasons so some of you may have been in those groups and already read my introduction to them. I will take the time to tell you that my 43 year old son was diagnosed with CLL in January 98. We almost lost him August 2003 and he added TB to his list of problems a year ago but has finished that treatment and appears to be doing OK now. He is not interested in alternative care. I mention DS and DH only because I have hope that they will change their thinking when they see a change in my health.

Again my question is where can I find a list of herbs that could cause bleeding when a surgical procedure is done?
