Guest guest
HI, I've got a problem that I would like to 'throw out' to you good people with hopes that I might get some 'direction' to my problem. I was rushed into the hospital last week with severe abdominal pains and severe diahhrea that was not true diahhrea but instead, I was passing 100% clotted blood with small pieces of my intestine linings (per the doc on duty). They put me on a clear liquid diet of jello, broth and juices to 'clean me out'. They took a CAT scan and attempted a colonoscopy but didnt succeed at that as my intestines were so swollen and infected. (I have NO idea what brought this on!) The colonoscopy will have to be re-done when the swelling and infection clears up. My thoughts are, the clear diet they had me on was almost the same as a colon cleanse, so I wouldnt think that I would have to do a cleanse on my own. I still have the diahhrea after 2 weeks but it is the 'true' type of diahhrea and no longer includes blood. I am taking Metronidazole, 500 mg, Ciprofloxacin, 500 mg, and Asacol, 400 mg. 2 tablets 3 times a day till gone, about a months worth left. I do not wish to continue the drugs and was wondering if this could be some kind of virus that could be corrected the herbal way. As of now, the doctors have no idea what the problem is which landed me in isolation for 5 days. Since I went through being 'cleaned out' in the hospital, I was also wondering if I need to do any sort of cleanse on my own in the future. This is got me really scared as my mom passed away from colon cancer 2 yrs ago. I dont want to follow in those footsteps! I am really new at herbal remedies and such, so I dont really know what to do to get and keep myself healthy as far as diet and such goes. Thank you all in advance for any help, input or advice you have to offer!
