Guest guest
After trying so many ways to make fresh and healthy soups I think I got it down to fit our hectic life. I took one of those relish trays and cut up some organic carrots, organic green beans, organic french garden sprouts, organic onion, and organic garlic minced. In a pot each day I add a handfull of all of them with 2 cups of water and a pinch of cumin, fennel, corriander, sea salt and pepper and cook till the carrots are almost soft. Whatever is left after one meal I put in the fridge for later meal or afternoon snack. It tastes really yummy too. Sometimes I add barley. I want to try some other vegetables but not sure what to try yet. I also want to try some black bean soup as that is my utmost favorate but haven't found a recipe I am happy with yet. Thanks for the push to make the fresh soups. It isn't so bad this way if I have the veggies already cut and prepared. My bowel movements have moved to 2 times a day. I want to thank all of you who helped me get started onthe path to healing and a better lifestyle for my family. It is finally taking some form. Guest guest
I made a soup last night with some carrots, diced tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, green beans, and garlic, and potatoes. Spices where whatever I had ( I don't remember). After cooking, a dash of undistilled apple cider vinegar. Yum. This afternoon for lunch I took some tofu (some people say it is bad some say it is good, we don't eat it very often so I figure if it is organic it isn't bad) sauteed that and scooped some of the veggies out of the pot and added it to my fry pan and then added a slight sprinkle of cheese for flavor and ate it for lunch. Guest guest
My dh hates vinegar but likes it when I put the undistilled apple cider vinegar (which is much sweeter than the garbage from the grocery store) in, you can't taste it- it brings out the flavor of the veggies. I probably used 1T in a 5qt pot. Give it a try on some sauteed veggies some time... you might like it LOL Marisa Domestic Engineer and Mother of 2 God put Adam and Eve in a Garden NOT a Pharmacy! > > Deana [squeekyme] > Saturday, November 06, 2004 5:38 AM > herbal remedies > Re: Herbal Remedies - Homemade soups > > > > > I am glad you like them, it doesnt sound to appitizing to me.. with the > cider vinegar. hehe but thats me. > The second one sounds yummy > hugs > Deana > > Corless Family wrote: > > > > > I made a soup last night with some carrots, diced tomatoes, mushrooms, > > onions, green beans, and garlic, and potatoes. Guest guest
Now that I could do. I bought some (with mother) and it's nasty. I was told to mix it with honey but that's not even enough. Thanks for the idea. Does cooking affect it in any way? Guest guest
I don't cook it. Always put it in AFTER cooking. It will be warm then, but it won't be cooked.
