Laughter is the

Best Medicine

How many times have we heard this famous old line? Most of us will go out of our way to see a Robin Williams, Bill Cosby or Eddie Murphy comedy. It seems as if we all love a good joke. Laughter is truly an amazing medicine and once upon a time in the ancient Roman days there was even a healing philosophy devoted solely to humor.

Dr. Patch Adams, made famous by Robin Williams in his portrayal of Patch, created his world renowned Gesundheit Institute based on the healing properties of humor.

Funny, light-hearted people are FUN to be with. I’m sure all of you have a friend that has one of those wonderful belly laughs. Don’t you laugh or want to laugh yourself when you hear that delightful musical sound? Laughter is contagious!

How about listening to little kids playing and giggling? A warm feeling comes over me when I hear them and I have to stop and take a moment to pause and enjoy what they are doing. Often I become part of the fun and a pleasant childhood memory of my own floats into mind. When I leave their presence, I feel younger, more alive and I myself am operating in a “Spirit of Play”.

Not so surprisingly, modern science has finally caught up with the ancient Romans and our friend Patch, and has discovered that laughter and happy thoughts actually have a positive physical reaction on the body. This can now be accurately measured both chemically and electronically.

With this in mind, the crew here at Organic Solutions thought we’d put together a few jokes for you to lighten up your day. I hope you enjoy them.

Patient: “Doctor! Doctor! No one listens to me.”

Doctor: “Next!”

-

The cowboy strode into the saloon yelling, “All right, all right, who is the wise guy who painted my horse yellow?”

There was silence in the saloon. “Show yourself, if you dare!” shouted the cowboy.

A 7-foot-tall, 300 pound mean looking character got up from a table and rested his hands on his gun handles. “I did it,” he said coolly. “What did you want to tell me?” The cowboy swallowed hard. “I thought you’d like to know,” he said, “that the first coat is dry.”

People who never get carried away, should be.

-

Dare to laugh, live, and love more!

You’ll be healthier and happier!

Yours in health and love,

Doc
