Guest guest
Hello, I thought I'd throw this in. My wife and I did the cleanse with a 9 yr. old whom my wife was tutoring. We did the first cleanse just Organic food and keeping the Liver Cleanse section raw fruits and vergetables. We spend $450.00 for the 3 of us in one week. After asking my wife she said that without meats and other stuff it's about $50.00 per person doing all raw fruits and veggies. So yes Lane it would be about $100 for two people a week. Here in PA we have a local supermarket chain that carries reasonably priced organic and I'll bet there are others around the country. For instance this week they had 5 lbs. of organic potatoes on sale for $1.99. Organic beets are $1.29 for a big bunch (with greens) and organic carrots are always $2.99 for a 5 lb. bag. That's a lot of carrot juice! Much of the organic produce in our supermarket comes from an organic farm in California called Cal-Organic and they supply supermarket chains throughout the entire country with organic produce at reasonable prices. Maybe you can check out their website and see which chains carry their produce. Gloria
Guest guest
Giv us their web site. Those are great prices. I checked a bag of organic potatoes that are from Cal-Organics and they say they are a subsidiary of Grimmway Farms. I can't find a website that says which markets carry their produce. The supermarket chain I go to is Giant Foods and it's HUGE here in PA and has stores also in MD., NJ, and Delaware. Maybe you could call Grimmway (1-800-301-3101) and ask them if any store in your area carries their Cal-Organic produce. Another brand Giant carries is Earthbound Farms and they also have a phone number on their website. Guest guest
Thank you If supermarkets here in PA get a large supply of organic produce from California, those farms must ship nationwide. Which state are you in? I don't know if there is more of a demand for organic here or not. When Giant first started to get all this organic produce my first thought was that they wanted to compete with Whole Foods, as there are a couple of them about an hour away. I thought maybe Whole Foods was thinking of coming to our area and this little trick of greedy Giant having lots of organic would make them change their minds. I also think because Giant has sooooo many stores, they can sell much of their organic for just about the same price as "regular" produce. Here in PA , Giant Foods are the WalMart of supermarkets! They just opened their 5th supermarket within a 10 mile radius of my house and those stores are gigantic. That's why all summer they can afford to sell organic grapes for 99 cents a lb.! Guest guest
I see Earthbound in just about every HFS i shop at. The people at Grimway are really nice and i would recommend calling them ( they use to be a client of mine and i had the pleasure of speaking to the CEO). I told them i was anable to find their prodcuts at my Whole Foods store and he suggested i speak to the produce manager. If there is a whole Foods or Wild Oats store in your area, they Carry both. If Whole foods does not carry either one, they may special order for you if you speak to their produce manager (as we did).
