The Foods ARE Drugs Administration?

The FDA has been busy ordering dozens of companies not to promote

health benefits of cherries. Countless numbers have reported relief

from gout with their use of cherry juice. The agency says that turns

the foods that cherries are into drugs.

Marketing of cherries for health benefits may not be done without

safety and efficacy studies according to the FDA.

Yet aggressive pharmaceutical marketing has resulted in almost 3

million children being prescribed strong, adult anti-psychotic

drugs. Required safety and efficacy studies have not been conducted

regarding children for these heavily side effect laden substances

with nary a word from the FDA on the matter.

There has been an almost 500 per cent increase through a 7 year

period for prescriptions to children of adult anti-psychotic drugs

with great potential for harm but no action is forthcoming from the

FDA.

Meanwhile a healthful food like cherries is under attack from the

FDA.

Add to this that only two weeks ago it was announced that there are

almost 1,000 safety and effectiveness studies that have not been

done for countless numbers of drugs permitted into the marketplace

by the FDA.

Where is the sense in all of this? Perhaps it is more a matter of

dollars and cents? Do you get the same scents about the FDA that I

do from these matters that all of this just stinks?

More bureaucratic nonsense

This week the United States Supreme Court of BIG Government is

hearing a case between two competing BIG Pharma companies revolving

around B-vitamins according to BIG Media reports. The unholy trinity

contests its own self interests though you and I should be the

interested parties.

At issue is testing for homocysteine with follow-up use of folic

acid and vitamin B-12, and whether one company must pay another

royalties for this naturally occurring phenomenon.

Lost in all of this is that homocysteine build-up results from a

lack of pyridoxine (vitamin B-6) that is not even being addressed.

Reversing homocysteine with folic acid and vitamin B-12 without

addressing the root vitamin B-6 deficiency is to put the horses back

into the barn without shutting the barn door.

Furthermore, the root pyridoxine deficiency problem is contributed

to substantially by removal of this nutrient from whole grain flour

in the bleaching process that makes white flour. Yet the United

States Supreme Court ruled this to be illegal almost 100 years ago.

Still bleaching continues in defiance of that Supreme Court decision

to this day.

Once again a matter of dollars and cents reigns Supreme with good

sense not courted at all by any parties to or over this matter in

these United States. The scents of rotting corpses should permeate

the proceedings but don't hold your breath waiting on that.
