Guest guest
Re: [HealthyIndia] RE: Researcher Dispels Myth of Dioxins and Plastic .... risk from exposure to microbial contaminants is much greater than that from chemicals.... I have heard this logic many times. But how true is it? It is important to do cutting edge research on this assumption. THE BODY IS DESIGNED TO HANDLE MICROBIAL CONTAMINATION It may not be able to handle chemical contamination equally well. For us in India. We need a closer look at the plastic menace. Routinely I find plastic waste being burnt along the wayside along with other waste. Our shopkeepers are adept at packing items in paper, why do we need plastic? Earlier tooth brushes used to be packed in paper packages, now they come packaged in plastic blister packs. A fantastic nuisance, you can't figure out how hard or soft the bristles are. Unfortunately paper packages too are nowadays covered by a thin layer of plastic to increase the shine (and durability). When I published my book I had a choice to laminate the cover in plastic - thanks to my ignorance I chose to go for the lamination option. I would'nt do it again - book covers without laminations seem to be perfectly OK. Selvaraj Hi Selvara, In regards to your query on the body's ability to handle chemicals, I found the following information especially noteworthy! " The body's natural defenses try to breakdown toxins as they enter. These are called 'metabolites' and can be significantly " more toxic " than the original chemical " .... I totally agree! The burning of plastics leads to even more contamination in that burning (especially in incinerators) creates " dioxins " which accumulate in our bodies! Many of the experts claim that dioxins are highly carcinogenic and it appears from existing studies and other evidence that they are. JoAnn -- > , sraj <sraj@> wrote: Author supports above by adding few lines here. Endotoxins are internally generated toxins inside the body during detoxification process in the liver. PLease check out: ayurveda/messages/6173 " The liver transforms fat-soluble toxins into a water-soluble form so they can be released through the kidneys (for elimination through the urine) and into the bile (for elimination through the colon). This transformation occurs through a two-phase enzyme process. In first phase of detoxification, 50 to 100 liver enzymes metabolize or chemically break down toxins absorbed from the intestinal tract, aswell as hormones, alcohol, nicotine, drugs and a wide variety of chemicals from food and water. As a result of first phase detoxification, toxins are neutralized and released into bile or made water-soluble so the kidneys can excrete them in urine. More complex toxins are converted to a more chemically active form called " active intermediaries " (pharmaceutical drugs are examples of toxins that require conversion to become active intermediaries). These molecular intermediaries are often even more toxic than the original substance and therefore, can do significant damage if they're not promptly eliminated. In second phase of liver detoxification, these active intermediaries must be converted a second time where they are combined with mineral compounds, amino acids or other biochemicals that are water-soluble. It is only after this second phase conversion that they can safely be excreted in the urine and the bile. " These days, 90% populations appears to be suffering from poor detoxification process in liver, due to clogging of bile ducts by toxins or fat(cholesterol). In latter case we use term " fatty " liver, not allowing any weight loss methods to work. Gives rise to " pot belly " , truncal obesity and los of breathing capacity due to restricted diphragm movement. End is of course heart disease of various types defined by mainstream science. This is the background on which breathing techniques of Baba Ramdev are finding popular following in India and now even in U.K. Those who have no time for breathing exercises etc ( lack of time is a " false " excuse of course), can at least do liver detox twice a year, September-October and March-April being ideal time. Nature helps patients at this time. I totally agree! Many of the experts claim that dioxins are highly carcinogenic and it appears from existing studies and other evidence that they are! Ayurveda theories support this. If one wishes body to digest something quickly, supply fire ( " agni " ) to it. Cook for longer time. Acc. to laws of science (thermodynamics) when heat or energy is supplied " entropy " increases, and " increase of entropy " makes the product carcinogenic. Unstable, explosive growth causing etc. That is why nicotine and other toxins in smoke are more dangerous than in simple tobacco. Many drugs, when smoked, readily enter central nervous system through same " strotas " or " nadis " of ayurveda, through which " prana " is supposed to enter. That is the reason, those who smoke, they smoke through mouth, but release the smoke through nostrils, absorbing more intoxicants. The increase of entropy is due to genetic modifications to plants and animals( making them less compatible with the environment and our digestive system ), depletion of genetic diversity of plants and animals, depletion of many natural compounds in soils, depletion of biodiversity on farms and in soils, and pollution of soils, water and the food supply with various chemicals and radioactive waste.
