INSTANT FIRST-AID AGAINST STRESS

In this article I want to teach you a very effective strategy to cope with

Stress. I am a medical doctor / author from Australia and I have been

researching on the different ways of overcoming stress. Stress leads to anxiety

and depression. It prevents you from enjoying a fulfilling life. The strategy

which I will discuss here is accepted by the scientific community involved with

mental health research.

I call this technique ‘First-aid’ against Stress. Personally I use it often

and it works every time for me. Try it every time you feel worried about

something. It is a swift guaranteed recipe to instant success in uplifting your

mood. Remember, any individual prepared for the worst is never defeated. Always

hope for the best and be prepared for the worst.

Prepare to face your worst fear in your mind. Think of the situation which is

worrying you to the point where you are losing your mental peace – something

which is making you utterly anxious and depressed. Now start facing it

fearlessly and honestly in the mind. Ask yourself what could be the worst

possible outcome? Then think of the situation as though it has come true. Once

you have done that move on to the next step.

The next step is to plan your response. Prepare yourself for the worst case

scenario. So what? The worst fear has come true – does it mean it is the end of

the world. Certainly not! Attempt to improve on the worst. Prepare a

contingency plan. Think of all the possible ways you can cope with the

situation. A contingency plan is the back up plan for any possible eventuality.

Make a list of it of all the possibilities. What would be your different

options? What are your alternatives – what is your plan A, and plan B, and plan

C and Plan D and so on? These back up plans should include details to make it

more effective. Better still if you write them down, especially if the situation

appears too complicated. Once you do this mental exercise, you will feel the

personal power within you. Your confidence will shoot up.

Remember, any individual prepared for the worst is never defeated. Always hope

for the best and be prepared for the worst. Being prepared for the worst helps

prevent surprises, while hoping for the best, builds up confidence to succeed.

If things happen which are beyond your control, stop wasting time distressing

about them. If there are ways to fix the problem, then do it. If not, look for

new opportunities. Then move on to the next step.

Winners are ordinary people with extraordinary enthusiasm and determination to

win. They do not wait for opportunities to come to them, they search out new

opportunities. You are born to win – how can a small setback stop you from your

birth right – the right to enjoy happiness. Nothing can defeat you – because

you are prepared for the worst, you have all the contingency plans ready – you

are committed to take massive powerful action to make sure you realise your goal

which is happiness. This is the power of a winning attitude. Be honest and ask

yourself – can a person with such an attitude ever be defeated?
