Guest guest
Homeopathy http://eregimens.com/therapies/MiscTherapies/Homeopathy.htm A definition of homeopathy is " a medical practice of treating a disease with very small doses of a substance that would, in larger amounts, produce symptoms similar to the disease being treated. These treatments are believed to stimulate the immune system. " For example, a popular treatment for nausea is a preparation called nux vomica, made from the strychnine tree, a substance that used in larger amounts would actually produce nausea (and possibly death). And yes, it is that strychnine - the poisonous type. The method by which homeopathic preparations are made prevents direct toxic effects. In many cases, there is not a single molecule of the original substance used to prepare it in the final succession (pronounced sus-session.) Dilutions are performed according to a procedure known as potentization. A typical way to do this is to put a small amount of a substance, such as a toxic mold or chemical, in an ounce of distilled water. The bottle is slapped against the palm of the hand or a leather shoe sole 50 times. Then, a dropperful of the mixture is drawn from the bottle and the rest of the bottle's contents is discarded, it is refilled with distilled water, then the dropper of mixture is added back in. This is the first succession. Slap 50 times, remove a dropper, discard the contents of the bottle, refill, add back the dropper. This is the second succession. This process is repeated 12 to 30 or more times total (known as 12x to 30x potency). Oddly, the higher the potency, and thus the higher the dilution, the stronger the remedy is considered to be. It is thought that this process imprints the " signature " or electrical frequency of the substance onto the water which is used. The remedy is put in the mouth under the tongue and held for a minute or more to administer. This is probably best done on an empty stomach and when no food has been eaten recently. Some homeopathic practitioners say not to use peppermint, coffee, eucalyptus, and a few other foods or supplements when practicing homeopathy, but lately there is debate with many claiming this does not decrease the effectiveness of the therapy. The term homeopathy is used loosely these days. Some people think that homeopathic means any natural supplement, and sometimes the term is erroneously used to describe vitamin, mineral, or herb supplements. This is not done as often as it was in the near past, so some of the advertisers have perhaps gotten a clue. It is humorous when companies claim that their product contains a beneficial vitamin, mineral, or herb and is homeopathic. This would mean it probably would not contain any of the active ingredient. Plus, according to homeopathic principles, the effect would be the opposite of taking the supplement! For example, using a homeopathic remedy of zinc could theoretically give one symptoms of zinc deficiency. And then there are HGH (human growth hormone) products. HGH is used for anti-aging and disease-fighting purposes to boost hormone levels in the body. The only problem is the stuff is way expensive. Many companies advertise homeopathic preparations of HGH http://www.google.com/search?num=100 & hl=en & lr= & safe=off & q=HGH+homeopathic & bthttp://eregimens.com/therapies/MiscTherapies/Homeopathy.htmnG=Search . In this case, though, they are not lying - they really are homeopathic preparations. They need only add a nanogram or some tiny, tiny amount of the stuff to water (and dilute that out), then sell it for $50 a bottle. The theoretical effect of this should be to accellerate the aging process! There are respectable companies that offer homeopathic remedies, though, and know what they are doing. Newton's and Boiron are two of the most popular brands. Homeopathy is often efffective when the correct remedies are chosen, and this is typically done by using the remedy which best fits the symptoms one is experiencing. When the correct remedy is chosen, results are usually immediate. A major benefit of true homeopathic remedies is that they can be used on the youngest babies, pregnant women, and the most infirm patients. Homeopathy - This medical method fights diseases with their own causes From http://english.pravda.ru/science/health/30-11-2005/9315-homeopathy-0 Homeopathy, one of the alternative medical methods has become very popular worldwide. The word 'homeopathy' is a combination of two Greek words 'homo' meaning 'likewise' and 'pathos' meaning 'disease.' The method of treatment is based upon the principle that any disease with definite symptoms can be cured with the same instruments that cause these symptoms in a healthy organism. In other words, “Similia similibus curentur.†The founder of Homeopathy, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), was a famous German doctor at the end of the 18th century. At first he conducted experiments with cinchona tree bark on patients suffering from malaria. The bark causes the same symptoms that malaria does; and when the doctor prescribed tiny portions of cinchona tree bark it caused symptoms which successfully cured the disease. The researcher was surprised to find out that concentration of a small portion of some substance may be reduced by dissolving it in water. Contemporary researchers doubted that it was actually so. Modern research methods allow measuring the amount of substance in liquid and in majority of homeopathic medicines with the scale where “the potentiality 20 †contains no molecules of the original substance. The phenomenon breaks the conception of the law of conservation of mass, that is why the scientific world is sure that homeopathy is based upon the placebo effect, in other words upon hypnosis. But there are over 160 evidences reported in reliable medicine http://newsfromrussia.com/world/2005/11/03/66919.html sources showing homeopathy is effective. Homeopathic medicines are made by energetic jogging, diluting the substance ten or one hundred times and then another jogging. Homeopathy experts also study the constitution of a patient that determines his character and individual peculiarities when he is healthy. It is important for homeopathy doctors to know how often their patients suffer from a disease to prescribe an effective course of treatment. Patients with high perspiration should not be prescribed medicines not connected with perspiration otherwise it will take a long period for patients to recover. Homeopathy is a really complicated sphere that is why modern drug stores make a mistake when recommend clients non-dosated usage of homeopathic medicines for treating various diseases. Homeopathy is effective only when it is applied for every particular patient taking his peculiarities into consideration, not only the symptoms of a disease. It is an important condition for those who want homeopathy be really effective. This is the reason why many attempts of applying homeopathy fail. Homeopathy may be successfully applied under various conditions in case vital forces of a patient are active or not damaged; homeopathic medicines produce the healing http://newsfromrussia.com/world/2005/10/31/66605.html reaction from inside. Homeopathy is not recommended for patients with impaired organisms because it may make the healthy of patients even poorer in this case.
