Four Arguments For The Elimination of Television

 

 

Even MORE relevant than when it was published -

nearly THIRTY YEARS ago.

 

Regarding the serious effects of prolonged TeeVee

watching ... about the book, " Four Arguments For The

Elimination of Television " by Gerry Mander (©1977),

television a MAJOR disabling tool, DESPITE, as many

respond, " But, there's some GOOD stuff on there " .

Agreed. Yet it's the HABIT of forfeiting attention

to a pacifying, zombifying, PASSIVE activity - one

which brings human brainwave frequency into an Alpha

state - i.e. SLEEP consciousness - that makes it so

debilitating. It bypasses our normal (waking)

thinking processes, sending the content DIRECTLY

into the Subconscious mind. This is a physiological

effect of watching images on the television.

 

The subliminals controversy is a DIVERSION.

 

They DON'T EVEN NEED subliminals.

 

This is very well described and explained in

Gerry Mander's book - he WORKED IN the corporate

advertising industry.

 

The entire book is available (free) in installments at

the Mother Earth News website. This is a list of the

installments of that publication, with URLs (web pages)

included. They probably won't display as functional
