Re: C'mon kids, let's go to Army World!

Mary, Bugs, thanks to you both so very much for sharing this story. I

regret eating lunch today because I feel that I might lose it very soon.

I don't know about y'all, but I am beyond horrified. I should not be

shocked. I should not be stunned. I should be able to accept this as

just another day living in the Evil Empire.

Imagine this. Making war fun for the kiddies.

Okay, folks. It is now official. We have absolutely, totally,

unequivocally, positively, without any doubt or question in my mind

seen this federal government lose any last remaining ounce of decency

that it ever could have possibly had (if indeed it was ever even

remotely decent, which is a huge IF in my mind).

Okay. I am finding it difficult to continue using my words... The

horror - of putting our children on war rides - is almost too much for

this mama's sad heart to bear. I have this nauseating sickness and a

chill of horror as I contemplate the macabre reality of what our

government has become. Vile and filthy and disgusting are but three

words that I can use. There are probably others far more accurate to

describe this revolting concept... but you get the idea.

Okay. I live 70 miles away (approx.) from this Grotesque proposed

military theme park. Somebody please (please) now talk some sense

into me. This tops all my other outrages by a zillion fold. Is this

the most important thing to fight right now?

GoodGOD there are so many heinous things going on now... I honestly do

not even know where to start. Sigh. I need to meditate. What would

JC do right now? He's the cool dude who walked this earth nearly 2000

years ago who would have a definite Clue as to what to do next. We

look around and we see horror after horror and some days it is

admittedly near-impossible to figure out: Which heinous act do we

fight, which war do we protest first? Next?

Going now to go figure this out. I can't let those beasts in our

military make killing machines out of innocent kids who will think

it's cool to go on some jet bomber simulation ride. I can't, I can't.

This mama whose heart bleeds for the deceny of our kids - our future

adults - just can't close this news article and go on to another

horror story of this Evil Empire du jour.

Bugs, thanks for exposing the latest Pentagon insidious scheme to

" program " our young to join the military.

This would be a great opportunity for all our Vets who are truly

against the current and future wars of agression to get out there, to

go and protest this new " PTL theme park of killing " .

And the poor kids who are duped into joining to " be a real hero " ,

will only learn the truth on the killing fields over there, and most

likely over here, too.

Because like I have said before, the real terrorists of the world

live right here, in Washington D.C. And they want our kids to sign up

to be more fodder for their war machine...not their kids...but ours.

More signs of the Pentagon encouraging worship of militarism.

This is just sickening! Certainly refutes the meme that we're a

Christian nation.

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia (AP) -- The Army is considering a

proposal to allow a private developer to build a military-themed park

that would include Cobra Gunship rides and bars including a " 1st

Division Lounge. "

Military officials said a massive entertainment and hotel

complex built next to a national Army museum could draw more than 1

million people a year. But authorities in Fairfax County are objecting

because of already traffic-clogged roads surrounding the proposed site.

Universal City Property Management III, of Orlando, Florida,

submitted the unsolicited proposal for the theme park last year.

" You can command the latest M-1 tank, feel the rush of a

paratrooper freefall, fly a Cobra Gunship or defend your B-17 as a

waist gunner, " according to the proposal, which was obtained by The

Washington Post.

County officials have no authority over the Army's decision

because the site is federal property. County Supervisor T. Dana

Kauffman said he thought the entertainment concept died last year and

said he had no interest in turning a military museum into " Disney on

Rolling Road. "

But the Army notified the county last week it is planning to move the

military museum from Fort Belvoir to a site a few miles away that

would be large enough for the entertainment complex.
