The hard right goes nuts. I have my own opinions as to why that happens, but please continue. Mr_Nimbus | 07.27.06 - 4:36 pm | # -------- It isn't just the hard right that goes nuts. Like the other day when Malaki criticized Israel, the DEMOCRATS turned their backs on him--how's your loyalty-obsession holding up there? Right-wingers make out okay, SO LONG AS THEY SUPPORT ISRAEL. Left-wingers make out okay SO LONG AS THEY SUPPORT ISRAEL. So you see a pattern yet or do we need some further correlation and regression analysis on these data points? The Paul Findley dot? The Pat Buchanan dot? The Ross Perot dot? The AIPAC dot? Since World War II, the United States has channeled 140 billion dollars in support to Israel. For what in return? The U.S.S. Liberty attack? The perpetual espionage? The entangling alliance that gets us dragged into foreign wars that have not a DAMN thing to do with U.S. interests, but everything to do with Israel's? They intimidate the press, think tanks, and academia. The ADL and other groups threaten people with lawsuits for criticizing the policy of a foreign government (which established itself through terrorism), in a land which supposedly has " free speech " . Saying that Israel and the United States are united by a shared terrorist threat has the causal relationship backwards: rather, the United States has a terrorism problem in good part because it is so closely allied with Israel, not the other way around. The cost of the war on " terror " (that is to say, the war on ethnic Arabs, even Catholic Lebanese ones), drains American pockets to benefit armed robbers in Tel Aviv. It's a HOAX. America has been used as the big stick, the workhorse, the dupe, and the patsy, for Israel's agenda. And the price America pays for it is not just the direct monetary aid extorted by IRS pistols out of the pockets of American workers, but also the dead New Yorkers of 9/11; the dead troops in Iraq and Afghanistan; the Americans who have died elsewhere from reprisals stemming directly with this so-called " alliance " . Treating Israel as America's most important ally in the campaign against terrorism and assorted Middle East dictatorships both exaggerates Israel's willingness to help on these issues (so far as they affect America and not Israel) and ignores the ways that Israel's policies make U.S. efforts more difficult. During AIPAC's annual conference earlier this month, which attracted top U.S. officials and Congressional leaders, the new Republican majority leader in the U.S. House of Representatives, John Boehner, vowed never to allow anti-Israel legislation come to the floor. That's not control? That's not being held by the short-and-curlies by pro-Israeli (by definition " Zionist " as distinct from " Jewish " ) interests? Silencing skeptics by organizing blacklists and boycotts -- or by suggesting that critics are anti-Semites (a ridiculous epithet as Arabs are also Semites) -- violates the principle of open debate upon which democracy depends. While the pro-Israel lobby has managed a number of successes for Isr Ciggy | Homepage | 07.27.06 - 11:46 pm | # -------- (continued) While the pro-Israel lobby has managed a number of successes for Israel, the cost for the United States is mounting, and could include the blood of someone you know. Do you care? Is it within your sainted " morality " to turn a blind eye to it? Is it your " loyalty " that will have you watch Americans die for this psychotic ethnic cleansing campaign?
