I want to stop taking Lipitor and explore alternatives, whether its

another type of cholestrol lowering drug,(non-statin) or perhaps a

natural herbal type, and or vitamins, better diet, etc.

Should I stop it abruptly? Are there possible side-effects from this?

Also, if anyone has had success with alternative methods, please tell

me.

I'm a 44 yr old male, had been on Lipitor and Accupril for years, and

my feet have become numb and tingly. My fingers are also numb and

tingly. I had a heart ablation last year, due to tachycardia at the

Mayo Clinic. Thank goodness their technique worked. I am experiencing

memory loss, depression, ED and other effects. Although I dont have

the tachycardia any more, I still have frequent PVC's. (My heart skips

a beat every 5-10 beats).

Any suggestions would be aprreciated.

Hi There!

The herbal supplement known as " Guggal " is effective for lowering

cholesterol although I'm wondering if your local health food store

wouldn't have other options that includes this herb as well as some

other nutrients in the right combination for you.

My typical response to questions of this nature is to include more

fresh raw natural items in your diet and make some inquiries about

products at your local vitamin outlet or health food store. Many of

them now have one entire shelf devoted to cholesterol support

products. My rule of thumb is to pick one that has the most

ingredients included and having researched this topic quite a bit I

will say that most of them have all the required ingredients for

lowering cholesterol. The effects are noticed almost immediately,

especially if you make a few modifications to your diet.

Alhough I'm not minimizing the importance of lowering your

choelsterol, it isn't nearly s damaging as high blood pressure to

your arteries. I would try to eliminate as many dairy foods as

possible from your diet and

Include some cold water fish (alaskan salmon, sardines in water) in

your diet, start taking coq-10 and heawthorne berry if you're

worried about choelesterol and a

orsening heart cndition. You should be focusing on improving the

health of your arteries and this can be quickly achieved through

diet and supplements.

Norwegian fish oil is very effective in improving

he health of your arteries and reducing inflammation as also is the

antioxidants vitamin C, andvitamin E with selenium and zinc.

Free radical damage is the culprit, really!

Cholesterol is only problematic if the toxins are there to form

harmful deposits.

Concentrate on elevating your good cholesterol and your bad

cholesterol will become less of a threat to your arteries.

This can be done by including more good fats and oils in your diet

such as extra virgin olive oil and NOrwegian fish oils. Organic

diets are also beneficial. When we eliminate processed foods from

our diet we eliminate many harmful additives as well!

Eliminate or reduce saturated fats, dairy and margarines. They are

the most problematic. Organic eggs may be eaten. The cholesterol in

the yolks are offset by the lecithin in the whites. Include some

unprocessed oats in your diet, preferably organic oatmeal for

breakfast with either rice, almond or organic soymilk and stevia as

the sole sweetener. Minimal amounts of raw honey or maple syrup may

be used if diabetis is not an issue.

Xanthine oxidase used in the pasteurization of

milk will produce the symptoms you're describing! I haven't touched

milk (even organic is pasteurized) in years!! I experienced

significant improvements in my heart and artery health with the

elimination of milk and milk products. They are very high in

cholesterol content!!!!

Be WELL!

I have experienced all these symptoms and more, heartbeat

hard and irregular that Icouldn't concentrate or

think of anything else!! I conquered CVD with all natural methods so

I believe I'm qualified to speak on this issue!
