Guest guest
atracyphd2 Fri, 9 Jun 2006 23:20:50 EDT [drugawareness] Announcing the Kito Foundation We have great and much needed news from ICFDA! So many of you have continued to ask me over several years now if we are yet set up to accept your donations to help in this battle against these drugs. Many of you have given freely of your time and efforts, but those who have wanted to donate monetarily have been left out in the cold while we have worked to set up the legalities of the donation process. For the past six months or so our legal council have been working on a non-profit foundation in which we can accept donations to and for the fight against these horrific drugs and the companies who make them and continue to push them on us all. These donations will be used for office and web site expenses, distribution of materials and media distribution, production of public service announcements, infomercials, etc., administration, news distribution, case support, family support, legal assistance, support to other groups with similar goals, etc. We must continue to organize and fight. These drugs are destroying the very foundation and fabric of our country, and killing or severely affecting millions of people every day. What is most frightening is that there has been a VERY BIG push in the media in the past couple of months to get these drugs out there for everything imaginable and to negate any warnings that have been issued on them. Without your financial support and continued prayers we cannot even begin to keep up with this onslaught, much less succeed in this battle. We clearly need your help in every way possible. Whatever you can offer, whatever you can do, please let us know. Our directors nationwide will be meeting at our offices here in Iowa this coming month to better organize and plan out strategies. As for donations, they can now be sent to The Kito Foundation, 420 Silverado Trail, Waukee, IA 50263. We are very grateful for all you can do. No donation is too small or too large and is fully tax deductible. Please call our offices at 515-987-8044 to make credit card donations and/or for further instructions and any questions you may have. You should also feel free to call the 800 order line (800-280-0730) and leave a message for us to call you back if you prefer. For those of you who recognize where the name Kito comes from - those of you who knew and loved him as I did, I must share with you the extremely sad news that my dear sweet Kito passed away suddenly almost three months ago. As you know in my lectures he was always introduced as my " antidepressant, " so you can guess what kind of shape I have been in since. For those of you who did not get the opportunity to meet him, Kito was a beautiful 5 pound white Chihuahua that exuded boundless unconditional love. He produced more smiles in his six short years on earth than all of the antidepressant drugs on the market ever have! We were inseparable. He was our mascot for ICFDA traveling many, many times cross country and internationally by car, plane, and train, singing at my lectures, marching in front of the White House to protest SSRIs, popping out of his little black bag in places no one would ever expect him to be, and melting the hearts of all he met. He literally gave me life as I fought this battle and ended up giving his own life for this cause as he wore it out in serving others dealing with so much pain. It only seems fitting that the foundation bear his name as he now serves as the official mascot and companion of Marc, Chris, Del, Candace, Matt, Julie, Phil, Brynn, Larry, Aaron, Jason, Noah, John, Paul, Luke, Mary, Bob, Margaret, Christine, Mellissa, Clint, Debi, Lisa, Jimmy, Alan, Jacob, Rob, Michael, Kevin, Don, Kathy, Eric, Dylan, Corey, Rachel, Isaac, Jeff, and far, far, far too many more to list. I will include some photos below of him wearing Mark Taylor's (the first boy shot at Columbine) bumper sticker with our website and the statement " Antidepressants Kill! " as he marched in front of the White House - gaining far more attention than any of the rest of us; sitting on the lap of Jim Pizzuto whose son, Marc, lost his life to Prozac (his story is in the beginning of my book); and posing in his bow tie and tuxedo at my daughter's wedding.
