Without a diagnosis, taking a particular drug is just using a shotgun approach and who knows what side effects it may bring. Also, depending on the type of worm the strength and duration of treatment with a drug varies. One doctor gave me Mebendazole, which helped, but she gave me one tablet and would not give me others. What the heck was that all about? I read about that drug, and for certain worms, you take it two times a day for five days and then after two weeks you take one more dose (probably to get the eggs that hatched and befor they are mature enough to create new eggs). Also, drugs flush out of the body through the liver or kidneys, and either of these organs can be affected if you self medicate. A doctor could test for problems in these areas. There is something called a hydatid cyst. The worms can cause these on a person's internal organs. These are usually free of symptoms until the organ starts breaking down. By then they used to operate. Sometimes these cysts will dissappear on their own. Now, they can give Albendazole for 1 to 6 months which helps in about 30% of the cases. They have found that even 3 months seems to find a reversal in some people. Some people who are not apparently aided by this treatment, when examined months later, show improvement. The Albendazole patients show some liver impairment, but that seems to reverse when the drug is stopped. Albeit, I would consider this dangerous to do with no doctor's guidance. THis can be scary stuff. Some worms can invade the brain and there seems to be nothing they can do about that. Anyway, the definition of delusional parasitosis, if that's the name, when I looked it up, said the patient complained about invisible bugs biting them and brought along a sample of stuff that turns out not to be what they claim, but usually dead skin cells. Of course, we should not go to a doctor claiming Morgellon's. They are the experts and we look to them for diagnosis and treatment. Trouble is, on the net there are treatments and articles on worms, but no recommendations on where to find a doctor who has experience with them. I think this is because most people with these problems are outside of the US, and perhaps in third world countries. I wish I knew a 'Doctors Without Borders' doctor. Where are they headquartered in the US? Do any one of us live within commuting distance? It's for killing different types of worms in dogs. It's meant to mix into dog's food, but I tried it topically about 5 days ago. Here's how I did it: I rub on antifungal cream,(thickly), then sprinkle the granules ontop and smear into cream. The whole packet. Then I put a gauze pad or 2 ontop, wrap with light gauze wrap, and an ace bandage. I keep it on for almost a whole day or more. My sores ARE shrinking fast, itching is all but gone. I hope this solves the problem. It may take a few weeks or so...but since I had this problem in this arm for about a year, I'm thinking it will take some time til I eradicate the " clan " that seems to have set down a good camp ground maybe to muscle depth, (that's what it always felt like). I still see some of those black specks, I think they're the worm eggs. I'll keep up this regimen as long as it takes. Hopefully it won't ruin my liver, but I've been itching & burning with sores on this arm for so long I'm willing to take the chance. I'm pretty positive it's some type of worm, either man made or whatever, but like I've told you all before, I've seen these things actually move, and it's DAM scary not to mention disgusting to have live day to day knowing these little worms are just eating away at my skin while I work, do the wash, shop, socialize, get the mail, vacuum, clean the dishes, etc. etc. etc......... I kept reading about people trying colloidial silver or whatever it's called.....but....this fenbendazole seems to be working. I'll keep you all updated. By the way, the cream you use or mix the granules with is really not important, it could be cold cream if that's all you have or even an ointment; or make a paste from water, who knows....it's relieving my suffering IMMENSELY. It's either try stuff, or get my arm amputated. I'd rather have my arm, being it's my right arm too that I use all the time. I feel it tingle some, but no, it doesn't aggravate me when I lay it on. It actually feels like it's a minor, tickly itch at first. Last week I tried Epsom salts soak, but it " burn/itched " badly and I couldn't take it any more. These bastard worms need to be continually snuffed for hours on a daily basis I think. Heck this could be just the cure we've been waiting for, who knows. I'm pretty optimistic right now. Total suffering time so far: 3 years, and hopefully eradication will be complete with my persistence and diligence. " patram81 " <patram81 Mon, 05 Jun 2006 01:37:42 -0000 [finding1cure] Observation on my self-treatment of my Worms I am sure that I have worms. I have several different sorts. This may make the symptoms hard to diagnose for any doctor, but the local docs, even infectious disease specialists, evidently have no training in these things. Tropical docs in my area are only experienced in administering shots before trips and maybe handling bacterial infections. Anyhow, I have found, in the past, raw garlic to be very helpful with my/these things. I started taking clove oil as per H.Clark, but the cloves, I think, are more effective for tape worms. I have gotten rid of my tape worms (hopefully), and was wondering why the garlic does not seem as effective any longer. I stopped the clove oil, and the garlic is doing its thing again. Ok, I now remember reading somewhere that to counter garlic odor from exuding out of your pores, eat parsley and/or pineapple, both of which follow a similar 'path' through the body. I think I can add cloves to this list. I guess my conclusion is that if you find that several cloves of garlic aid you in keeping these things at bay, you may do well to not also ingest clove, parsley or pineapple (this could mean that I should no longer take my bromelain digestive aid, for it comes from pineapple). I think whenever I take something that disturbs them, they just go dormant. I don't know how long the eggs or whatever can remain in this suspended condition and I don't know if when they must awake to eat something if what I am taking will hurt them enough to kill them.
