A team of scientists at The Scripps Research Institute; the National

Institutes of Health Animal Center; and the University of Tokushima

Graduate School (Japan) has provided some of the first evidence that

compulsive drug use stems not from obtaining a drug's pleasurable

effects, but from an aversion to drug withdrawal.
