Canadians healhier than Americans

" You can add Canadians to the list of foreigners who are healthier

than Americans. Americans are 42% more likely than Canadians to have

diabetes, 32% more likely to have high blood pressure, and 12% more

likely to have arthritis, Harvard Medical School researchers found.

That is according to a survey in which American and Canadian adults

were asked over the telephone about their health.

" The study comes less than a month after other researchers reported

that middle-aged, white Americans are much sicker than their

counterparts in England. "

Alobar,

I have visited Canadian health foods stores on many occasions and

find that their society as a rule are much more open to alternatives

than americans. Middle eastern restaurants thrive in their locale.

It was surprising to see how health conscious they are in comp-

arison to americans. If I remember correctly, their goverment does

not condone media coverage of drugs and this is true of many other

countries. To my; knowledge the U.S. is the only country where drugs

are so widely promoted in the media! This may be one of the reasons.

When we are so bombarded by these ads (annoying as they are) it is

working well for Big Pharma and the multinationals. We are targeted

daily!!

Blessings, JoAnn
