Guest guest
Hi Asira, > Butch, > I also loved hearing about the black cumin, which I just would have > otherwise assumed was the same as the spice, cumin, and not known that > it was so valuable! Glad you enjoyed it .. its another reason why I keep harping on the need to use Botanical Names instead of Common Names when discussion EO. > As I read about it, I got a " hit " that it might be really good to put > on one's face, as an anti-aging, anti-wrinkle treatment --- not that I > have ever given much attention to that sort of product..., what'ya think? Its commonly used by ladies here in Turkey .. as is Extra-Virgin Olive Oil .. and I reckon they look purty good .. nice complexions for sure. Miss World this year was Turkish .. and the runnerup of Miss Europe was Turkish. Likely some of the folks on this list can give testimonials as to how it works on their skin. Speaking of purty ladies, Friday night I went to an upscale new pub here in Ankara ... its called " Friends'R'Friends " ... and not a place for the weak of pocketbook or those who want to save their hearing ... mine is already blown. But there was a real purty lady there ... dressed in a black leather suit ... she was just walking around ... watching things. Asked my buddy who she was and he said she was a bouncer and a semi-pro boxer. So .. next time she walked by I called her over cause I wanted to talk to this interesting lady .. I'd never met a lady bouncer/boxer in Turkey. I'd met a couple of the Olympic winners in weight lifting .. but they were usually hulks .. this gal could have been a model. She was mebbe 26-27 and finer'n frog hair split 4 ways. Started chatting with her and she mentioned that her next fight was in late April or early May .. with Mohammed Ali's daughter .. Lela(?) .. and that it would be in Istanbul or the USA .. still under discussion. She had a cute button nose so I asked her how she kept it like that being a boxer. She smiled and said, " I never let people hit me on my nose. " ;-p Oh yea .. her name is Nurhayat .. it means .. Blessed Life. Odds are great she's from Eastern Anatolian cause the villagers there are much like the American Indians when it comes to naming their young. They use names like Leaf, Life, Sea, Rain, Sky, Moon, Star, etc., and I have gotten used to it. In fact, Ann was talking about a name for her new grandchild ... half Turkish .. that would be easy to deal with in both languages. The most common one I know that's used by American-Turkish parents is one that can be used for males or females .. its Deniz .. it means Sea in Turkish but it can be pronounced Dennis or Denice. ;-p > And now I must also add it to my pending order, which seems to be > becoming a " work in progress. " But I'll take care of that off-line. Fair enough that is. > Aloha, > Asira And to you .. and y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
