hello,

I'm new to the group and i need help. I'm very upset that I have a goiter as a

result of being

on lithium. I had a scan yesterday and it confirmed this diagnosis. I have been

referred to a

endocrinologist and will be seeing him as soon as i can get an appointment.

I'm hoping someone has some experience wth this. It's called a diffuse nodular

goiter . On

one side it is 5.9 cen on the other , 5.2 c. . It is getting harder for me to

swallow and I wake

up often at night worried about being able to breathe.

Is there any way to make the nodules shrink? I don't want to take conventional

meds if i can

help it ( thats how i got into this mess) at the same time I can't live in fear

of choking as i do.

I know surgical removel is one option but i fear getting stuck on a vent as my

father did for a

year before dying. Please help. Any suggesions would be apreciated I am very

upset about

this. unfortunatly, don't have much emotional support. I am 50, eat organic,

normal weight,

moderate exerciser and little sugar junk food, no drinking. No other medical

problems

except for sadness, depression, insomnia. Thanks in advance for your response.

PS Please

don't take lithium. Rebecca

Dear Rebecca:

I just finished reading the book " Dead Doctor's Don't Lie " by doctors

Joel Wallach and Ma Lan. I had to return this book to the library so

I can't look up what it says, but it did have some information on

goiter.

I just did a simply web search in google using the words goiter

wallach and came up with a bunch of hits. Something here might help

you as well. In addition to this, coupling goiter to words and

phrases such as alternative medicine, natural cures, supplements, food

allergy, candida, iodine, kelp, etc. may also help you find

information that you seek.

Incidentally, I personally overcame bipolar naturally beginning in

1997, when I got off all meds and begin to use a nutrient

suplementation, dietary change, and gut healing approach. If you are

interested in some material that I have written in the past on this

topic of overcoming bipolar disorder naturally, feel free to email me

and I will send you all I have... about 700k's worth. (In this

material, I should perhaps not that I am not selling anything, nor do

I have any commercial agenda whatsoever. This material is simply the

story of what I learned and where I learned it in order to overcome

this oft devastating illness.)

Dr. Michael Murray has some good recommendations in regards to

supplements. Thyroid Health Formula, Natural Factors•

Nourishes and Supports the Thyroid •

nutritional support to the thyroid gland

Health Protection Branch Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), among

the highest standards in the world.

The following gargle was found to be effective for shrinking and

eliminating stones found in the saliva gland. This gargle recipe was

posted for a lady in a popular herbalists newsletter that I receive.

It may be beneficial for goiter as well. It may give you some relief

while you are waiting for the supplements to take effect.

Saliva Gland Stone Gargle Recipe:

For one half glass of gargle: half 3% hydrogen peroxide, half warm

water,

about 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking soda. The measurements

do not havetobe precise! Some like more peroxide, some more salt,

some more baking soda............

God Bless!
