Guest guest
Hi all, After years on statins and other drugs, my mother is finally ready to get serious about alternative healing. YAY!!! The biggest question is about fat metabolism and her liver, any input here is greatly appreciated. She has a very fatty liver with high liver enzyme readings. The doctors told her to eat NO fat in any form and don't worry about carbs. As backwards as this seems, it works, and her liver is normal again. She feels great, except that arthritis is getting much worse. She also had her gall bladder removed decades ago. Does it make sense that the fatty liver is due to an inability to digest fats? Is there a bile enzyme replacement, or would a digestive enzyme high in lipase be sufficient. How would taking high doses of fish oil affect a fatty liver and this situation? I just read something that arthritis can become much worse with an inability to digest fats, which would then also raise cholesterol and triglycerides. I don't know if that is accurate, but would explain a lot. She has problems with extremely high cholesterol and triglycerides that drugs don't really work on. It wonder if fat metabolism is the key to her health. And of course, if she can eat fats, that means much fewer carbs thanks for any input, Rachel
