Guest guest
We had an old Springer with bad osteoarthritis. When we saw the x-rays it seemed a miracle she could get around at all. Anyhow, she was limping along and the vet said she would only get worse, that we'd have to lift her into the car to go anyplace, etc. We began giving her alfalfa tablets, the really big ones. In a blop of peanut butter, which she loved. And a bit of aspirin daily, too. Sorry it's a few years ago now and i don't remember just how much. But at least one of those big alfalfa tabs a couple of times a day. Just 1/2 aspirin, I think. Anyway, soon she was running again, and could jump right up into the car. She was fine for a long time. Trying to get caught up again and saw this post. Assuming someone was wanting something for their fur-baby's osteo, I can say enough for Solid Gold Dog food and suplements. My friend, who has raised her fur-babies on Solid Gold since it's arrival on the market has just lost a 16 year old Irish Setter who was raised on it. Before Cally died in our arms about 2 months ago, we had been trying to find out what was causing a cronic ear infection. After doing everything he knew to do, our vet suggested taking x-rays and sending then to Albany to see if they could find out what was wrong with her. When I took her in, he did full body xrays and as we were looking at them he said to me. "I had no idea Cally had such advanced arthritis! I don't see how she is even walking!" three of her spinal bones were completely fused together, but up untill she died, she acted like a puppy and we never saw a sign of a limp. I have to atribute this to the regime of feeding and suplements she was given. Twice each day, in her food, she recieved 1 teaspoon of a mixture of MSM powder, Yucca, Seameal, Bee pollen, Scorbate, and Berry Balance, all sold by Solid Gold. I also now feed this to my 2 adopted fur-babies who are7 and 8 years of age. I expect them to live, if not a long life, a mostly pain free one. I hope this helps someone who loves their fur-babies as much as I love mine. Deonia

Meanwhile, type in Solid Gold into your search engine and see what you come up with. BTW, Solid Gold has NO preservatives in it , nor does it have any "road kill" ! LOL That's what I call "by products". Deonia

Jenn , I called my supplier and she told me they havn't got their website up yet. but you can call them at their 800-364-4863 number and find out where the supplier nearest you is. Or they will ship it to you. I'm in Fl. so it would be cheaper shipping for you to get it from California where they're based. My fur-babies' fur literally feels like fur. My friend, has 2 Maltese, 1 Yorkie, and a new Border Collie baby. I use the Holistic, but there are other kinds, like lamb, etc...No preservatives, no by-products. I also use the newest product they have called Life Extension, It stopped my Sheltie from constantly licking his paws in just a week. It's a little pricy, but well worth the money, I have used Nutro Max for years and I like this better. Deonia
