Guest guest
Hey y'all, Lemme follow my last post with an afterthought. There are people alive today who had a parent who was treated for some illness by a medical doctor in a manner that would make you cringe. Its not been all that long since quackery was the norm in the USA and the practice of medicine was looked down upon .. a trade that folks practiced when they could do little else .. and a trade where one was guaranteed to stay poor. Due to the mysticism of a discipline some consider sacred .. one that was created by and for the practitioners of that discipline .. medical science .. doctors were able to elevate themselves in the eye of the public. To merely legitimize themselves was not enough .. they wished to become a part of the elite because they were rejected for so long. They were denied entry into society even as late as 80 years ago. Just read American history .. that's all I ask. AND .. when we look back at how medicine was practiced 100 years ago and cringe .. keep in mind that maybe 25-50 years from now folks will look back at how it is practiced today and also cringe. This is NOT the case with almost all folk remedies and natural healing. These techniques have survived because they worked and the cure to kill ratio was acceptable. Howsomeever, these techniques do throw a monkey wrench into the wheels of progress of .. the pharmaceutical industry!! Inquiring minds should not need to read anymore than what I have written here. Some will reject it .. that's their problem. Others will have a light bulb or two flash in their brain pans .. I think that's great. I do not condemn the medical industry as a whole. I think we've become far too dependent on doctors and hospitals for delivering babies and treating wounds and injuries. There is no doubt that some lives have been saved due to certain internal operations to remove this or that problem .. but there should also be no doubt that too many of those operations performed should NOT have been performed .. and an even far greater number were performed when odds of success in curing the problem was so small a bookie wouldn't have given odds on it at all .. but they must be performed because it takes lots of money to keep hospitals in business and pay the malpractice insurance rates that have risen to outer space due to unscrupulous lawyers taking cases to ultra-liberal courts regarding piss poor medical practices. Man has created a monster and man must continue to feed that monster. Y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
